Finally got round to doing the timing chain with tensioner and since im delving this far in the rabbit hole though id go all out and do the water pump and belt, wallets not too happy with the cost but oh well this was definitely needed was always curious about being able to check chain stretch via vcds/obd11, think i had something like 3.47 which was told anything under 5.00 degrees is fine but as you can see in the video below just how much b.s that is play it safe guys and just change it every 50-60k.

Will finish it off tomorrow at some point , mate of mine who helped with the work took the video of the chain whilst i went to grab some grub.

@maxpayne kindly gave me a box of noico 80mil. Used about 2 sheets in the boot and 3/4 of a sheet under the rear seat.
Spare wheel well was especially tinny, now has a more solid sounding thud when tapped.

I assume you deleted cold diagnosis. I assume you have replaced resistors. I assume you did not purchase from TRUPS

I’m glad you managed to get it done. What about the in cabin noise? Did it improve?

You need VCDS and then central electronics and then go through the bytes until you find cold diagnosis and unclick them all.

Yet to see, haven't driven it yet, finished it at 5pm yest.
Still got 7 or so sheets, and the sheets are big so still enough for the doors etc.

Reading up on it though supposedly it's best to layer up the sound deadening with closed cell foam, and it's that that lowers the cabin noise. The noico/dynamat etc add weight to the panel to stop vibrations. The ccf needs to have 100% coverage to be effective, but the ccf is also heavy. So not holding out too much hope, but the panel knock test was surprising. Was like a tin can in the boot before

Installed warning and puddle lights this weekend!
Very pleased with the result!

Changed my track rod ends. Drivers side took about 20 mins but the passenger side had to be ground off. Emptied my catch can and cleaned it’s sight glass while I had the tools out. Checked all levels and finished off with a Sunday scan.

Tomorrow?? Hunter wheel alignment.

Did mine a few weeks ago. Not a bad job, especially compared to an A4!

£8.20 on Amazon :p. Every little helps right?

Yeah it’s usually on offer somewhere tbh, quick google usually finds the cheapest source, if you’ve got another email @ use that for eurocarparts and you get 50% off your first order with that email, I’d order 2 or more

Had service and MOT done last week which included inner CV joint nearside done which I wasn't expecting

Today I did cabin filter so heads up - something that usually gets forgotten about requires some attention!!

Enjoy!

Should it not work either way? Handbrake is still on the left of the console in uk ones? I hope so anyway as this is top of my want list lol.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh I honestly thought the handbrake was located on the rightside of the centerconsole though. Then it doesn't make any difference and should be able to retrofit in UK RHD cars aswell .. :)
