Next model A3

I'm guessing this is the black edition yet to be released? Also take it that this is Turbo blue. Kinda shot themselves in the foot a bit is looks very similar to Voodoo.
No black Edition it's either a Edition 1 or Vorsprung model and yes it Turbo blue very similar to voodoo blue ie my choice of colour on my car...

They often do this (filter colours down) Nardo, Daytona for example used to be RS only

Audi doesn't have the permission to use the Name Voodoo blue as the rights to it belongs to Porsche from their Paint to Sample catalogue turbo blue is very similar though as l have said before on here

All I was saying was some “exclusive” colours or colours exclusive to certain models do filter down to mainstream as in the case of Daytona and Nardo.

Yes mate l knew what you meant,Daytona is a Audi paint as is Nerdo
Voodoo Blue well let's say Porsche own the rights to the "name" as others have copied,it was firstly used on only one Porsche 918 spyder in 2016 it was then accepted into the PTS range of paints,Audi first used it back in late 2016 on a RS7 Performance model which also had a Audi Exclusive Voodoo blue coloured interior, this car was used as a showcase for the Audi Exclusive program and took pride and place in the headquarters of Audi in Neckarsulm

Couldn’t agree more, a Mazda wouldn’t have been a consideration a few years back, was a bit of a brand snob but after one test drive I was hooked.

I love driving it, It’s so engaging and gets you thinking rather than slamming foot to floor and letting the car do all the work like I would in the S3.

I got behind an mx5 yesterday and I didn't recognise it until I got right up to it with its round rear lights and body shape. I bought a new one in 2003 and it looked very different. So nice I googled them when I got home to see what size engines they are putting in these days. I like the tan leather that was in one.

Jesus !!! That interior. You must have to really really like Blue to buy that car. That Blue steering wheel look ghastly.

I wish we could just stick to analogue dials. A tablet right in front of me all the time would annoy me (and trigger a migraine).
What's it like driving at night on unlit roads?

The old analogue dials from my pre-fl RS3 feel archaic now .... the screens & tech are incredible.

There is so much individualisation available & you can interface by touching the screens / using a touch pad or using mini touch pads on the steering wheel.

The screens are high definition but certainly not dazzling & the ambient lighting luminance can be adjusted and is not distracting at all ... it just looks mega cool & ultra modern.

I can't be ar*ed with "mega cool and ultra modern" I just want to enjoy driving my car and getting to where I'm going without unnecessary distraction.

Sorry I am a Fool.
Just sticking 2 tablets onto a bit of plastic and filling the gaps with air vents isn't design i'm afraid

I’ve had many very nice Audi’s over the years & it takes a lot to impress me but the interior on this car is mightily impressive. I’ve had back to back Audi’s for 12 years so I’ve been very loyal to the brand & it took something special to draw me away ... that’s all I will say

I’ll be honest ... a bit of me was like that ... but I’m glad I didn’t let it put me off & I’ve now embraced the tech & I’m really enjoying it :icon thumright:

The latest 2 litres are about 180bhp, whilst the car isn’t bonkers fast it’s very agile and nippy, the exhaust has a nice rasp to it. Mine has the tan, goes with the grey very nicely.

The A3 saloon has always been the best looking car out of all the models in that class, from any manufacturer, so let's hope they don't ball's it up too much with the new one.

As far as interiors go, compared to the new leon, audi has made a complete dog's dodo out the new A3 to the point I feel embarrassed that it is linked with the audi name where previously they have set the benchmarks in design and quality...

Certainly mercedes have got the human interaction with the two screens perfect with three different means by which to control them. The system even detects if your a driver or a passenger operating them. The sat nav also can use what three words to navigate to the nearest meter...

Exactly mate ... I think some people just need to take the blinkers off. I held off for the new S3 / RS3 but that interior was a deal breaker for me. After 12 years of Audi’s it was possibly a good thing & refreshing to try another brand. We spend a lot of cash on these cars so we shouldn’t be blind to that. I appreciate this is an Audi forum so many members will fiercely defend their cars & the brand and I will definitely consider another Audi but it’s nice to have found another brand which I feel equals Audi & gives me 2 options moving forward.

I think you've bought your Mid life crisis car mate to be honest.....:icon thumright:There is a A35 in silver just 100 yards up from me....guy went to school with my Mrs so he's in his late 40s ergo, silver suits the A class more than any other but that rear tailgate spoiler is out of character with the cars overall design and shouts out lairy, on par with tailgate spoiler on the Honda Civic type R that's not my taste no Mercedes is especially a hatchback and until l plank my buttocks down in the drivers seat of the all new S3/Rs3 then I'll pass judgement

Says the man who buys an ultra vivid blue S3 lol :tearsofjoy:
If anyone’s had a mid life crisis pal, it’s most definitely you :tonguewink:
The A45 I bought is along the styling lines of my RS3 and hence why I didn’t go for the aero pack as I agree it is too shouty.
It’s stylish & purposeful just how I like my cars.
I’ve always had S or RS cars so the 45 is perfectly on par ... & no lairy colour for me lol :icon thumright:

It wasn’t long ago though mate you said you weren’t gonna have another Audi and you were singing the praises of BMW ... so what changed there ?

Either way, it sounds like you are putting all your chips down and now banking on the new S3 being suitable as your next car.

I’m sure it will be a great car. The exterior isn’t too dissimilar to the current car (not a bad thing when you see how VW have messed up the golf) but I just hope that interior is a lot better in real life than the photos & videos portray. It just doesn’t look Audi to me & it’s very busy & I like neat & balanced which the 45 ticked for me.

Time will tell but let’s hope you do like it mate ... as what is plan b ?

I'm a fool too

Dashboard and tech looked impressive sat in the dealership. But after a few hour test drive, I didn't like it. Bit like Audi VC, I just think getting rid of Analogue dials for digital screens are just wrong. No matter how many times you can change the appearance, once it's set to your preferred set-up, it'll stay like that for years. So what's the point.

I have to say after getting back into my S3 after the A35 AMG test drive, I much preferred the look of the analogue dials. But that's just personal preference.

More tech, more to go wrong. But each to their own.

Could be a better option, you’ve obviously got one of the best S3’s out there with the pre reg engine.

I don’t think the interior in the next model is going age well at all, whilst the current with the round vents etc is very simplistic.

I thought the exact opposite ... my RS3 felt like a relic on the interior when I got back in it especially the analogue dials after test driving the 45 but it was a pre facelift RS3 to be fair ... hey we all like different things and you stick to what suits you.

100% i would consider one again it was a brilliant car :icon thumright:
I just wasn’t prepared to wait a year for the new one having had my RS3 4 years & the 45 was perfect for me on this occasion so that was that.
Plus it is nice to be in a different brand after 12 years of Audi’s.

I may consider a face lift down the line but just because I’ve got a Merc now it doesn’t mean that’s me done with Audi. There’s still some Audi blood in me lol :)
