Hi, I'm off work after having an operation, and have spent most of my time researching stuff to do, both on my old mini, nice and straightforward, and the a4 avant.
It's a b7 2007 1.9 non dpf, upgraded brakes, S-line black leather seats, rotors, new wings, door blades, spoiler etc, so its tidy enough, flew mot and quite happy with it generally.
Was looking at remap which would bring it to approx 145bhp, and an egr delete.
As I've been researching I've seen about upgrade to turbo using pd170 off a 2.0, so few questions...
Presume need pd130 or 150 injectors, pretty straightforward to do?
When looking at stuff on Ebay, looks as though original turbo (bke engine I believe) has a vac operated actuator, but the pd170 appears to be electric connector? But I've read it's a straight swap. Or swap actuator over too?
Is it the bv43 turbo with a suffix a or b?
And will it bolt in place of my original one as in straight to manifold and downpipe, thinking decat too along with egr delete.
And does it have to be fron an A4, or will an A6 or golf, leon etc donate parts? And engine codes to get it from.
Do know of a pd150 leon for parts if anything is compatible.
One last thing, for now anyway, is it advisable to fit a fmic instead of the single side one, would it be a universal kit, or specific one, only seen 2.0tdi one from darkside which is nice, but big bucks.
Thanks for any advice, cheers

I'll grab some and try to post them, I'm not computer savvy so be patient haha, and its filthy from regular north to south trips

Sorry, engine code was BRB was mistaken, been reading too much stuff, doing my lads polo too and have an S3 engine in garage destined to go in something else!

A slightly older pic of car, before blades and spoiler, full set of seats cost me £50 from breakers, heated too, but not got the climatronic unit unfortunately to control them, lumbar wired in though.
Engine code is BRB not bke

Just seen on another thread, if it's a brb engine that a different inlet manifold needs using, a pd130 one is suggested, is that one from a passat, A6 or something, so the inlet still points rearwards instead of a golf, fabia type that would point to the front of car, used to be something about the orientation when upgrading the mk2 caddy from memory?

If it is the BRB, then you have the odd-style EGR valve... which can't just be deleted without coding.. there is a company in Poland that sells delete kits(with blanking plate) for the EGR and EGR-cooler, but when you disconnect the electronic valve, you will get a MIL light in the dash, unless it's coded out..
The BV43 is a straight fit, get the 170hp version(with the long, round compressor outlet, not the short oval outlet)!

Was going to egr delete, thought all B7s needed it mapped, and the bv43 has egr in place where would need blanking anyway possibly? Presume that an alternative inlet manifold would make it easier than Polish kit and just use 'standard ' delete inlet tract pipe and plumb water pipes together?
Have since read the bv43 electrical plug is for a sensor, and still a vacuum operated actuator.
I'll look out for the outlet difference, great help, thank you.

You can delete the EGR connection pipe in between the exhaust manifold and intake manifold, with 2 blanking plates. If you want to delete the EGR VALVE itself, then you need it coded out, before you can actually unplug it to remove it(keep in mind the ASV valve is also electronicallt connected, I tried disconnecting that but the enormous kick/judder of the engine shutting down when you flip the key, was so annoying I quickly reconnected the ASV).
As for the BV43, the VNT is still operated by vacuum, just like the current GT15 turbo, the electrical connector is not needed

Sorry to ask another question, have seen a few turbos for a4 2.0 tdi, bv43, some have a plastic looking piece on turbo outlet, listed as a damper online, turbo part number is 03L145701E, bv43a.
But others I've seen as bv43 have a longer alloy pipe integrated on turbo.
Which is the best type to look for?
