yes yes, i know a cheap ****** eBay part i paid 10 pound for.

has anyone else brought one and installed? where did you pull 12v, and ground the wire?

i just got one, is it worth it?

i want OEM but i want music streaming available.

am sick of hearing ****** adds on radio and who the F uses cds anymore

i don't have a iPod connection to the RSN-E head unit, and the scrappy wants £££'s for one

PLEASE ADVISE

Nice post! The 32pin connector from eBay is fine - is this the grey/purple connector that plugs into the back of the RNS-E unit? Your post isn’t explicit so I’m guessing.

If it is said 32pin plug, then did you get the Aux/Bluetooth module with it? They should already be wired so don’t need to pull an earth. Plug it in and use VCDS to let the vehicleKnow that the AUX input is fitted.

CD’s are cool but the RNS-E has SD card slots which can be used for music.

There is no factory streaming options.

Best bet if you want the highest quality is to copy 320kbps files onto a micro SD card as the AUX is ***** quality imo.

I install auxins with bt adapters along with power supplies for clients, works very well & quality is great tbh.

If the retrofitters gave out all there knowledge they wouldn't be in business for long , take @ NHN up on his offer to fit and then you will have it done correctly the 1st time snd hsve no worries later on if ypu get fsults after trying to instsll yourself

And what is the point of the forums at all? I thought that the main reason is for people to help each other. Don't think someone would lost his job when share where to connect 2 wires.. But fine, everything nowadays is money...

Check your fuse box for a perment live and then in the fuse box u will find a bolt that you can use as a earth

Answers are in the froum for most questions asked as they have been asked before but people forget to look through the forum FaQ sometimes help. Retrofitters are here to advise but you do have to understand that if you went to someone to fit things for you they will charge just like a garage , now if everyone could fix there own cars then there would be no need for garages hope this help clear things up

No...sorry this has not helped ...So your a retrofitter ... ????? I'm even more confused .... you see before this forum when I first started using the internet in 2000. I was with petrol heads or pistonheads or audizine and we shared knowledge and advised for free when someone asked a question ... which this conversation was... ???
Or am I completely missing the £££ signs...

Why not just help the marv999
Tell him that he can pick up a 12v supply using a piggy back carrier from his fuse box and scotch block into his negative terminal behind the centre console or anywhere in fact ...
If he wanted a garage to carry out the work ..he would be talking to the cashier.????
HOPE THIS CLEARS THINGS UP...!!!!!

As per my original post, @marv999 what piece did you purchase? Was it the 32pin plug with AUX or BT connector - can you post a pic or a link?

I’ll help you where I can and I’m not a retrofitter - I too come here for help and support where typically the forum members will help the members find a solution.

I personally don’t agree with the retro-fitters plying their trade within the posts. I get they need to make a living but I think it breaks down the role of the community/forum. Just MO.

You might want to go and read through the post and see i did advise the guy what he can do , am not a retrofitter but i do believe if you want a job done correctly you go and get it done right once and once only and if it costs money you pay .

Marv999 first what vehicle are you referring too Plus what is the stereo head unit also .. this will help to narrow it down ...

I think the problem is that the OP didn't exactly write the most engaging post - no details about his car, model of RNSE etc... Plus, most of this stuff has already been answered if he'd used the search tool.

Also, NHN is a site sponsor who pays to advertise on here.

I'm installing a, Bluetooth RNS-E Navigation Aux Adaptor 32-Pin so I can stream music from my phone. I was hoping for suggestions on where to get the power from for the adapter so it is not constantly powered up and any ground location suggestions, or should I run wires to the fuse box... If needed it's for a 2004 A4 cabrio. 2.5TDI Thanks for the help

Tap in on D, Pin13 its for the amplifier and powers on when you turn ignition :)

Tou can ground it on the RNSe harness itself, just screw it on the back.

I believe since the stereo stays powered up for a few minutes after shut down thats why you have the powered up indication (flashing blue light). I grounded mine to a screw on the radio housing and powered it through the 6disc cd changer. It transmits a BT signal, but Im having a hard time programming the radio to activate the 32pin port with my vcds
