Hi all

According to the Audi tracker my car is now built which is a full month early and is now in quality control.

Anyone know roughly how long it now takes to get to the dealer??

mine took 7 weeks from build finish to get to dealer and with Xmas shutdown you can expect at least this...basing only on my experience in November of course...

Thanks that’s sort of what I expected.. Still cannot get over it’s built a month early. It was supposed to be Jan 20th

Well I have checked again and it’s now in transit in it’s way to the UK supposedly.

I heard that the tracker can be a little out, anyone else experience this?

Yeah tracker can be a little out, my experience was about a week in transit and a week at the port/ferry and a week to get to the dealers

Hold on for March 1st and new reg!

Will it now be on to 70 plate?

The tracker is way off. I received mine at the end of September, and it's still showing in transit on the tracker :). Also said the car was produced and shipped in Belgium, which I checked with Audi, and it definitely was made in Germany... go figure. It only take a few days to ship over, but it will sit in port/customs a while before being transported to the dealer. I'd assume 2-3 weeks given the holidays in the way, and surely (hopefully) they will be pushing to clear customs before January 31st Brexit deadline.

Who cares about the 20 tags, just get the car. A 69 reg is awesome anyway.

So if the tracker is showing in transit it could already be here then? I will ping the dealer after Christmas as see if he knows where it is. I just want to get it ASAP

Everyone is different but if it’s a matter of a few weeks, then I’d be waiting for the new 20 plate. Nice to have a brand new reg and come trade in tome it will obviously be worth a touch more.

Mark my word, when your salesman tells you the RS has arrived at the dealer you won’t care about which Reg no. you get be it 69 or 20.
You will want that car ASAP, and start to enjoy this awesome motor.

Enjoy

A few weeks wait will be a couple of grand at resale time

Absolutely not, and I am speaking from experience, possibly a few hundred pounds but not thousands.

Totally agree, having sold many at a reg just before the new reg has come out it makes a few hundred pounds if that.

As it stands if the tracker is even half way right I will get it in a couple of weeks. No way I am waiting 6 weeks for it when driving a Hyundai i20 :yahoo:

I’ve had a few new cars over the years and always wait for the new reg if it’s a matter of a few weeks wait.

If you look at values of a 66 plate Dec versus a 2017 (Mar) plate you will find the equivalent of about 4 months depreciation which can indeed be £2k . Even 28 Feb 66 to 1 Mar 17 can have a 4 figure effect.

Sorry I disagree... based on extensive experience too. There is always a month on month depreciation factor of £x'00 a month but on year change and Reg change there is usually a double hit. Car prices currently are all over the place with the Brexit Bolloxcks and are up and down on a regular basis.

Well the dealer has emailed saying that the car should be there middle of Jan, it shipped on the 23rd Dec..

Looks like delivery will be last week of Jan which would be about a month after it shipped. Does that sound about right?

Does anyone have an idea on the timescale to build an exclusive colour car?
12 weeks....but that's for us guys in Australia. Been quoted BW12 for my Exclusive colour RS3 so won't be seeing it until June, but I suspect the shipping of the car to the UK will be much shorter. It will come down to when you can get a build slot.
