Gear Knob Swap

Does anyone have any information on how I would do a DSG Gear knob swap. I have the S3 steering wheel retrofitted with the smooth leather all round, im looking to do the same with the gear knob to replace my perforated one.

I have a new gear knob in hand and im looking to swap it over however i don't know the following:

How to reset the Reverse Button
Do i need to heat and spin the plastic bit like you had to in the 8P
I seem to have bits missing from the connection, please see below ill attach photos.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You also took the leather part off, Thats all im needing to do. Thanks for the help haha. I'll remove the leather on the new one and replace the current one without having to take the gear knob off hopefully. :respekt:
