Is there any way of changing the direction in which you use it? It's backwards currently scroll anti clockwise to go down and clockwise to go up?

who does that?

It used to annoy me in my C7/7.5 and I just put up with it. Presumably it was built for right hand operation for LHD vehicles.
Not sure if it's configurable in any way, maybe one of the VCDS gurus may know?

I never even noticed it until we got the Mrs A3, which is the other way around. Her A3 now drives me nuts as I prefer the A6 direction.
