Parking Module. What is it that’s stopping it displaying on the mmi?
Is it the mmi unit? The parking module? Both?
Never tired, could be overall compatibility issues though due to the different feature sets of each module and brand.I might be a bit simplistic but can’t you just swap the 5qa module with the 5qo and code it to work?
Flashing and parameterisation = two different things. Flashing an Audi parking module with Skoda firmware will probably brick the control module to be honest. Am more than willing to try if someone wants to donate the needed modulesWas reading something on the Ross tech forums a while ago and this worked with the pdc module with 5q0 and doesn’t with the 5qa in the facelifts. There was mention of flashing the module with vw/Skoda software to replace the Audi one, sounds like parameterisation?

Parking Module.

Module is located by / on top of the accelerator pedal, mounted on its side and held in with two plastic pressure clips, one top and one bottom. The connector ports face towards the rear of the vehicle. Is it worth a try? I’m happy being a guinea pig.
There’s a few golf r getting broken near me so can see if I can swipe the module and try.
I have access to the old vcds cable but don’t have a clue where the pdc module is in the car to swap and try. It shouldn’t break or fry anything else if it’s not compatible?
If someone can let me know where the module sit and confirm I can’t really break anything else I will give it a go if I can get my hands on a 5q0 module.
Never retrofitted one as VW’s here in the UK tend to have a high level of specification in order to compete with other brands, unlike our Audi’s. Never had to replace one also.@DJAlix
Do you have xml files left in your Odis cache? Any chance you have a parameter set for the pdc module of a Golf 7 Facelift? Module is exactly the same, same partnumber, same softwareversion......heck even coding is almost the same!
Left is Golf 7 Facelift and right is Audi A3 8V Facelift

Same problem here. So best chance is to replace the module.Never retrofitted one as VW’s here in the UK tend to have a high level of specification in order to compete with other brands, unlike our Audi’s. Never had to replace one also.

I think you need the Skoda Superb module with only rear sensors. The Golf is 8channel and you need 4 channel.Going to see the guy tomorrow. I’m actually after the wheels if they are in good nick as I’m looking for winter wheels so might see if I can get the module thrown in.
Is there anything special I need to do or is it just unplug and plug the other module in? Coding for car to accept the new module? Only ever coded a cars with existing equipment and most complex was a towbar. Never tried coding a different module in always just replacement like for like.

Did you check the coding? Use security access 71679 before making any changes.

Copy paste your old coding into the new one. Try itYes. Will give it another try later.

Also you need to make some adaptions changes in 5f

On the 5QA 8 channel module I can confirm there are 2 lever operated plugs/sockets. The smaller 18 pin connects to the front sensors using 6 wires, a common supply pair and and 4 sensor inputs. The larger 26 pin connector connects the rear sensors, front and back sounders, switch and light, power and earth and the CAN bus HI LO pair.Well have it a bash.
Got my hand on one but not sure what car it came out of but part numbers is older 5q0 where as my new facelift is 5QA.
Didn’t get it to work but was running out of daylight so will give it another try tomorrow.
The old module works like the new one with beeps but no display.
I did notice that both module has 2 plug sockets on the back but only 1 is used. Is it something to do with the other socket?
I just unplugged mine and plugged the 5q0 module in and see if the car could see in vcds. Coded it and nothing on screen. Still works as it should with beeps like my 5qa with no errors or compatibility issues. Part came from a vw. Not sure which one. Sent my mate to breakers and they had one for a tenner so I took it to test.
Will try again later and see if it can be coded.
Looking on eBay these modules go for anything from £15-50 second hand.
If you can get second hand modules for a tenner pre programmed, parameterised then that might be your cheapest bet rather than finding someone or dealer to do it with your virgin modules.

Check these adaption channels. Reset your MMI
Reset mmi?Checked them all and they look the same.
Coded the parking module to 000050011 and still no display just beeps.
Must be something in the mmi that’s stopping it.
Then the Skoda Superb module....Tried that.
Then the Skoda Superb module....

Specific one, because your car has exactly the same moduleHow can I tell it’s a Skoda module?
They all have same part number or do I have to find a specific one?

Skoda Superb mk3 8V 4channel:The only difference was the 5qa on my Fl and 5q0 on the one I tried.
What part number should I be looking for? They all seem to end with the same number. Just the first digits slightly differ

This one. It has to come from a Skoda Superb..then it his the Skoda parameters.

Yeah....find a Skoda with the module, switch it with yours and reparametrise it with Odis haha.Is there a way to load the Skoda parameters over the Audi?
It’s a bit pot luck trying to get one with the right parameters/software. They all have the same part number.Yeah....find a Skoda with the module, switch it with yours and reparametrise it with Odis haha.
There arent parameters available for this module for systems like VCP

Depends on the pack fitted. Base rear only don’t have display, certainly on early 13/14 models. We have had 5 8V from 2014 (A3, S3 and RS3)all with front and rear parking, all with display.Hi all On my 18 8v s3 whenever i stick it in reverse the parking sensor display doesnt come up on the screen like my sisters 16 a3 is this an optional extra as i only get the beeps to notify and not the display i didnt realise it was an extra if it is
Thanks
I have just swapped my 5Q0 to a 5QA 919 283 B from a 2018 Skoda Octavia 3. Still no visual display.
I did not changed any coding since I have a PFL 8V and my original coding was "out of range" for the 5QA.Did you change any coding for the new unit?
If you have Pfl why did you change the module?! Only do coding on pfl module for display. Thats it.I did not changed any coding since I have a PFL 8V and my original coding was "out of range" for the 5QA.
After that I have checked the text coding and it seemed OK (manual transmission, show OPS, etc) I wasn't sure in the bit of "rear lid" in case of sedan.
Furthermore, I got an incident - "ESP_33 keine signal/komminakation" - it is probably caused by the ABS 5Q0907379G, which should be also updated.
