What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

I know exactly what you mean mate. I never thought cleaning the cars would go so much down on the priority list as it has been for the last few months for me

If only Nick was as close to me as he is to you I'd have signed a contract with him for a fortnightly maintenance wash

Umm...so who is lazy here? I honestly LOVE washing and detailing the cars, my escape

Ouch! @Jimbob76, need backup here

Got your back buddy - picked up one of these short trigger guns about a month ago from in2detailing. @X3man isn’t wrong, it is a very good upgrade for your PW. Way more manouvre-able, hose spins in the gun unlike the standard Karcher lance so your hose doesn’t get all tangled up (worth the out-lay for this reason alone) and just more enjoyable to use. One of the best detailing buys this year for me.

John @ Forensic Detailing seems to like - he picked one up this week, so expect a review on his YouTube Channel in a few days...

??? Did I miss something @Tashfeen ? Or just an ‘in’ joke with Bristle-dog? You lost me anyways, lol. Reckon these guys with ‘massive lances’ are trying to over-compensate for something - what do you reckon @X3man?

I ordered 100ml of Obsession’s chroma wax and got a 200ml jar instead , not used the chroma yet but it smells fantastic, i have used obsession wax a few times and always been happy with the results

So @Jimbob76 was the pioneer, and I have one of these (with the newer swivel), John @ Forensic just reviewed and pretty positive.

Ha! Overall a pretty positive review (thought the negatives were pretty nit picky, and none of them an issue for me). Enjoying mine and wouldn’t go back to a full sized gun now. The main thing you lose if you have a K4 with the vario lance is the ability to adjust the pressure. There’s a simple solution to that though - take a step back if you want lower pressure for alloys etc. Worth the outlay for the swivel connection alone - saves time and frustration with your hose not getting all coiled up.

I let the monsoon weather wash mine today. Busy with project McLaren garage - got the second long wall sorted this week (even had my detailing shelving off the wall to repaint). Starting to take shape now and reckon after another couple of weeks of evening based pottering I’ll have the fiddly short walls sorted too. Then it’s onto new ‘leccy remote control roller garage doors and commercial grade porcelain floor tiles...

And all tucked up...

Need to make a decision on the floor tiles. I’m thinking second from the left of the samples - too dark or too light will show dirt after five seconds, but the grey could be a good option.

I agree, and tend he did say the negatives were really a stretch...hand ache WTF!

Coming along nicely there mate
A agree the grey tile will be best for not showing the dirt as much, but black would hide the tyres marks.

I'd go for the black as said above will hide dirt and tyre marks well, plus if the walls are white it won't make the room too dark

Quick question @X3man and @Jimbob76 with the quick release system are you still using the original karcher hose or have you both changed to a longer more flexible solution? Trying to work out if I need both upgrades...

I have the longer flexible hose, which is definitely definitely worthwhile and made better by having the short gun with swivel

Thanks mate, thought that'd be the case. Gonna be an expensive weekend with those bits and Waxstock tomorrow

Remembered on Friday that the wash mitt I'd been using had been thrown in the bin the week before.....so not to be without one I ordered one of these for £12 delivered:

I ended up going to WaxStock this morning for a quick browse, picked up a few things:

- wheel woolies angled brush
- meguiars bucket and grit guard
- swirl/paint inspection torch
- Gyeon Q2M Foam (and chatted to experts about maintaining my Pure Coating )
- do not wash sign (hangs from mirror)
- 2 x glass m/f’s
- colourlock leather shield
- foam kneel pad

Plenty short trigger guns and hoses on offer there

Nice haul @X3man. They don't have an online shop, do they? Would love glass mfs, colourlock and short trigger gun.

They are good ones those very similar to the incredmitts
Funny you say that, I was going to order one of those for about £20 and then I saw a few reviews online saying exactly what you did :)

You should have said mate, as I was there this morning. Picked up a fair haul myself

-Gyeon essence shampoo
Autoglym UHD wax
BH Auto Foam
BH Korrosol
AF Tar remover
AMdetails clay bar
2 wash buckets with grit guards
36 390gsm general purpose MF cloths

I saw the trigger guns there, not a lot cheaper than the in2detailing offering (nearly same price with forum discount) but it didn't have the swivel connection which was a good point made by John at forensic detailing so decided against them at the show.

Anyone used this before? When I turn on my a/c there’s like a stale air smell. Hoping this will solve it.

I used this a few months ago mate , put it in the A3 one evening when I knew it would not be going anywhere for a while. Followed the instructions , job done . Worked a treat.

Good tip though is to not run your AC right up until the end of a journey. Turn off five or ten minutes before . This allows the AC matrix to dry out and help prevent condensation build up.

Good shout there scotty switching off AC, something my dad taught me many years ago (but that was when AC sucked the life out of the engine)

I know what you mean Nev , our previous Toyota was a prime example . You could literally hear the engine revs increasing with the AC and the fuel gauge going down

So after my haul from Waxstock and pondering over the weekend (and bad influence from @X3man and @jassyo06 ) I'm currently looking in to buying a Das 6 pro plus, and tackling the S5 myself. Not sure if Ibis White will benefit from the treatment or not. Only bit I'm not sure on before ordering, is a 5" plate on the Das 6, surely is too big for areas such as the side skirts on the S5 so not sure how to tackle this.
