hi all,

6 months since bought a white audi a3 se technik on a 65 plate without really knowing much about specs etc.
im looking to change the alloys as i hate the standards 10 spoke alloys. anybody got any recomendations. has anybody dealt with wheelbase alloys before, is there a good s line replica alloys and would 17 or inch be better on the car?

thanks

Welcome! A lot (or majority?) of 8V ASN members prefer 19" alloys with 235/35/19 tyres. There are many drivers who want to preserve comfort, so they keep/buy 18" wheels - 225/40/18. I don't know if it would be easy to meet anyone who is still on 17s.

EDIT: all above is according to my observation and may be not truth.

At least you have comfy ride Lol.

Wheelbasealloys and other sites of this kind are almost all the same and sell the same brands. Rims, replica included, from LDPrestige.co.uk have good reviews.

Pretty sure I got my last set of wheels from wheelbase. Just make sure your wheels are in stock when you order. Mine took two weeks if I remember right and I had gone on holiday by that time.

im looking at them. are they a good replica of the s line alloys?

They are not a replica, despite they look like the RS6 wheels. It's BBS wheels, good quality brand. Just make sure you choose the correct size.

These are even better. They look more like the Q8 wheels without the tiny black spokes between "petals", which I think is better this way. I considered these wheels not long ago too.

And I guess the oem center caps would fit.

ordered these today. fitting saturday morning. 18 inch should look miles better on car than these 16inch 10 spoke alloys :tearsofjoy:

had them fitted this morning. look miles better than them i had on. its true what they say the alloys make a car

Plz, take better pictures - some side view as well as some closer view taken from an angle in order to see how concave the rims are.

Are they gloss or satin black? Also, many manufacturers - inclusive the oem ones - add sorta fake concavity to their rims by making the spokes to poke a little outside, they they curve to the wheel center. Is this the case with your wheels too?

better close up
