Mysterious boot plug socket

So I just spent 2 hours looking for a replacement part for; what I believed to be a lock handle like the side compartments have on them.

After finding the right hand side panel for sale on eBay it shows that it’s actually meant to be how it is?!

I’ve added a picture of what I mean, but does anyone know what it’s for?

Pretty sure thats not how it is meant to be. My A3 had a bag hook there. Not seen any A3 with anything other than a bag hook. In the photo you show, it looks like it has been pulled off.

As you can see by this pic(that i just got off of Ebay). It is a spring action hook for when using the Cargo Net(or what ever!)

Your a genius! took the OP 2hrs to find a photo and even then all he could find was one with a broken panel!!!

Haha! just kidding mate! pop in to Audi , im sure they will help you out. However, i reckon that whole panel on ebay will be cheaper than audis prices!

you just need bag hook, it twists and locks into place in that hole. i can take mine in and out.
i suggest twisting and pulling ut the other side and looking on the back for a part number, then getting one from TPS.
