My wife's friends husband is looking to buy an almost 3 year old Audi A4 (not from Audi), as he knows I have an Audi I got asked if I knew of any good 'non Audi' warranty policies that he could use.

I said I'd ask on here if anyone has used or knows of any reputable companies that he could try.

Thanks :)

Nah they are all overpriced. I've known people to say these companies weasel out of stuff or get idiots to do the repairs. Just get them to put money away in the bank for a rainy day

my advice would be to go approved used from Audi themselves. slightly more expensive...but the peace of mind is worth it.

Even if he doesn’t buy direct from Audi, he can buy an audi warranty. This would be my advice. Use the search option on this website and check out the replies. Depending on the model you will prob be looking at starting price around of £350 per year covering all parts with no excess. All aftermarket warranties will be similar price or more and offer less.

Make sure it covers wear and tear as 90% don’t. This is how they get out of claims. I’m with motor easy. Expensive but cover Audi rates too. I got it Just because I went for s tronic originally.

Have you claimed yet? How was your experience if so?what does your wear and tear cover? it would be good to know so people can get some good feedback as most online is negative or made up for marketing reasons.

Personally, I just don’t see why someone would go with a company other than the manufacturer, apart from a positive previous experience then it wouldn’t sway me.

Warranty Direct

Having watched a lengthy thread on pistonheads where they refused to pay out when everything was followed, refused to adhere to ombudsman, then eventually paid out and made the guy sign an NDA, I wouldn’t go near them...

There aren’t any basically, all have a clause.. go with the Audi warranty! It’s absolutely invaluable, my granddad has taken it out for 2 years on his A3 after the manufacturers warranty expired, £345 a year. First year he had a clutch pack which is in excess of a grand to buy, then on the second had a headlight level sensor/motor changed which I believe was well in excess of a few hundred.
