My S3 is showing I need an oil change in 1000 miles and a service in 6000 miles.
Do Audi seriously expect me to pay over £200 for the former and then £300-350 in a few months time (with another oil change) Any thoughts and experiences. The car is 11 months old. Cheers folks.

What's the mileage? I'd probably just get it done together or leave the oil change for a bit.. Or get the oil change done not at Audi.

Mine went 2 years I believe without an oil change, was around 18k when it had the first one I think. (I bought used)

If you are doing less than 10K miles/annum it should be set to fixed (annual) service anyway. As others have said, get it all done together on the anniversary. And get them to change the service schedule to fixed.

Have you had a quote for the oil change? £200 is very cheap, I couldn't get my dealer down below £295.
However, the service cost is cheaper, because it doesn't include an oil change. It's been around £200 a time for me, because the service doesn't need any parts or fluid.

Your car is only 11 months from first registration, so as already stated it seems like it would be better set to fixed annual servicing and not variable like it is. With the former the countdown is in days to the annual anniversary and not miles, so there is always 365 days between oil change and inspection as reported in the MMI.
My car was first registered on 31 May 2018 and the first oil change is being done on 3rd June by Dundee Audi at a cost of £174...or would be if I was actually paying for it. :innocent: My next service which is stated as an "Inspection" will be exactly 365 days after this and naturally include the standard oil and filter change.

It does depend on mileage. I travelled 5,000 miles in first 2 months and then 8 thousand in the next 9 months. Mileage will be increasing again so actually impossible to be 100% accurate of annual mileage plus I have other vehicles too.

Yes variable servicing is predominantly mileage dependant with an upper limit on time, whereas fixed is purely time.
Based on what you have said it will probably be more appropriate to be on variable, but the potential downside is as you have already discovered with services possibly not being very far apart.

So... further investigation.... oil £210 Inspection including oil £386 or £223 without oil. Think I will carry on a few weeks past light for oil service coming on ( allowed apparently) and then go for a full inspection service.
