Coolant Level Fault Light

Hi,

Every time I start my car the coolant level red dashboard light flashes red for about 2 minutes then turns off. I have had the coolant level checked and the sensor checked and both are fine. I have also had the coolant tank emptied and refilled and it’s make no difference.

Any more ideas would be appreciated.

Open the cap and scrape the prongs inside, use a toothbrush or screwdriver. Only open when cold

Change ur bottle! I had this tried the cleaning and had no success! Bottle changed and it’s not been back on in 3 years

I had this approx 10 years ago on my Mk 4 Golf. Genuine coolant bottle change and no probs since.
Beware buying a cheap replacement from ECP. My son did this last week and I could not get the electrical connection on for ages. On the original, the electrical connection prongs are tapered so slide into the connection socket easily. The cheap part had no tapered connectors and would not slide into the socket without lots of jiggling!!
He is under strict instructions not to remove it again!!

As said, scratch the internal prongs, this usually resolves the issue.

Been a problem on all vag cars for about 20 years, just change the bottle , not expensive.
