I want to try to update maps/software on my rnse as it just shuts down when power is on fine when ignition is off but as soon as it comes on it goes, anyone done this yet? Will the software update prevent me from coding it to a a6

What are you trying to do exactly?... you should be able to just use the latest map disc... no need to flash the RNS-E at all

It has to be running 0150 software for you to code it for A6.

Not quite sure what you're explaining mate?...is it just the nav that is not working properly?

Clutching at straws really! I need to update maps anyway but since I got it decoded ( thought I forgot the code turns out I didn’t just wouldn’t accept it) it won’t work when ignition is on so don’t know if it’s corrupted the software or weather or not is the mfsw install, but when I disconnect the bt loom where I done the connections it still doesn’t work with the ignition on. So hopefully I can spend a few hours tomorrow and get it sorted

Nav/ headunit turns off ignition is on and keeps going back to code screen enter code it just brings the code screen up again

Sounds similar to what happened to my first RNS-E...When I first plugged it in,it worked (but not right because it was coded A4) and then when the software was changed it went 'code locked' and wouldn't accept a code.

I had to pay someone to get it working again. Now with that one,as long as the software isn't changed,it will work fine without a PIN.In fact it has been no trouble at all since I stuck it in a box in the back of a cupboard to forget it for a while.

This pin they retrived was the same as I had written down I still have to enter the pin when the battery has been disconnected, just a ball aches as I had it done to test the mfsw so can’t say if it’s because of 1 or the other

Just wondering do the Bluetooth module harness pin outs vary between any models
