On my stage 2+ sportback ive found sometimes either if I boot the car round a corner and the esp light flashes or particularly if I brake in this current weather causing the ABS to kick, sometimes afterwards I will hear a beep and the dash will give the above error message whilst the esp light becomes permanently lit and the abs light flashes on the dash!
As soon as the engine is switched off and back on the fault goes, ive had the car on VCDS and it shows no codes when the fault isn't present?

could be the start of a faulty rear hub, on VCDS go in to ABS, then meas blocks, select all 4 wheel speeds and drive forward, see if one is lazy to start sensing

I will get my mate who has VCDS to try this out, he said it may be an abs module or abs pump which is quite pricey, is this something common?

Hi Guys, I have a similar issue on my 2009 8P A3 1.4 tfsi.
Car drives fine with no obvious signs of brake faults. But this error message is displayed constantly along with a flashing handbrake warning light.

Read the codes on vcds and it gave a fault relating to the vacuum.
Have tested vacuum sensor and there is no open circuit or short circuit. Disconnected with no difference.
No leaks as far as I can see and the one way valve for the servo is working as it should.

Any ideas?
Did the OP ever get this solved?

I'd really like to get rid of the incessant beeping when I first start the car.

Ok,
I always do this and really wish others would do the same!

UPDATE: FIXED

Traced fault to a broken wire to vacuum sensor on brake servo line. Repaired broken wire, cleared codes and all has been well for a couple months now.
