oil light on

can anyone help with this problem ? car had full oil change sat 8th december and oil light comes back when engine reaches normal temp. could it be pressure switch or sludge in sump?
forgot to say its a A4 3.0 v6 quattro

I had this problem and it had been the wire to the pressure switch that was broken.
Never had that problem again after fixing it.

Many thanks !! Car booked in for Wednesday to replace switch so hopefully thats it. Only had car a few weeks an love it

Hopefully it'll be just a faulty wire..
My mechanic didn't even charge me to fix the broken wire.

I also have 3.0 V6 and had YELLOW oil level fault, RED is the more serious oil pressure.

Mine usually came up after 50 miles, if you know your oil is fine open the bonnet and close it and it goes away as it assumes you have put more oil in. Mine was at 80k when it became dodgy I replaced it and sorted ever since.

Shame it happened straight after an oil change as if the garage changes it you are going to have to pay for another oil change, lets hope its a wiring fault.

Any possibility to scan it? You could check the oil pressure as well then, save throwing money at a possible non problem.
