Long delays for new orders due to WLTP emissions testing

Ah right, crumbs, that doesn’t sound ideal at all. I guess I can only wait and ask. I’ve raised it with Audi UK and they said I would be able to change stuff once the configurator has been updated, never got around to discussing money.

I think it’s already been said but with the facelift the black edition is even less value for money. I’ve also already got most of what the black edition gives you, options wise at least so I’d basically be paying more for just the actual black bits. Does look hella nice though...

Partly the reason why I tried to add stuff as I had added the folding mirrors as a cost option only for it to now be standard...

Been meaning to ask for a while a few questions:

1. Has anyone tried changing anything on their order recently? Specifically people who got build weeks. I know some people did before all this began but I’m talking after the facelift and all that.

2. Thinking of upgrading from SL to BE but worried it will delay further and god knows what it will do to any price promise lark. So do you all think it would be worth the pain?

I didn’t have much luck when I simply asked to have the rear badges removed (free option). Was told that this would put me back in the queue and also require a requote-which would’ve automatically been more expensive as their A4 promotion had expired.

What is your build date?

19th November - it now was ready for assembly but I think that’s more to do with the build date than any individual progress of the car

Does anyone know whether the 150 TDI 6 speed will become available as not available in any model currently?

Blah, that sucks. I also wanted to change from matador red to the tango red but even that sounds like it could be painful.

Liked the look of matador red online but after seeing it in person I am less convinced I like it now.

Doing without an option is one thing, but I think colour is a different ball game. It could be the difference between loving and hating a car. You've waited long enough now, I'd really give it some consideration.

Yeah, exactly. I feel like it is the least they can do after all this as it doesn't sound like we are getting any compensation outside of the facelift.

Pretty sure there is another post on here that said their dealer would be happy to do this pre - delivery at no cost. Worth checking out.

Just for a look , went back onto the website a couple of weeks ago for my lease and the cost has gone up by over £100. per month!! Wow!!!
Back on today and guess what....A4 has been withdrawn.

Not sure where on the forum to post this but I'll try here first.

I've got an Audi RS on order, I put in the order back in September with the dealer but my circumstances have recently changed and spending £60k plus on what will mainly be a garage ornament isn't really filling me with much joy. My understanding is that this is not a factory confirmed order as yet as the order book for the RS is closed until Feb next year, I'm hoping that gives me a chance of cancelling.

Any advice / ideas on how I can cancel and somehow get my deposit back?

Cheers

Have you spoken to Audi about your RS order. If it’s been put back I don’t see why you couldn’t cancel. Depends on your situation. What dates were you given to expect?

I cancelled my A4 and got my deposit back without issue. They took about a week to refund the money but they had no problem with it.

Just call your dealer and let them know the situation.

Has anyone heard any further information surrounding Audi 'confirming technical details' and therefore being able to release cars? Am assuming this relates to the release of WLTP figures.

It is great news that production is picking up - that cars are being built and others have build dates not too far in the future. My concern, as I think I mentioned a while back, is that the delays will move from production / lack of confirmed build dates to certification resulting in cars built but unable to be registered.

My car was built over a month ago - and has been in the UK for over 3 weeks. Never has Grimsby seemed to far away.......!!

You also wonder with Brexit looming and after the implementation period how’s its going to affect orders and prices.

I guess this all depends on whether we achieve a free trade deal with the EU. If we end up with a 'hard Brexit' or simply crash out (a distinct possibility as it is very probable the withdrawal agreement will be defeated in Parliament) we will see significant price rises. Jaguar Land Rover are particularly vocal on this point.

Talk to your dealer, reclaiming your deposit on a vehicle that hasn't got a build date should be an issue.

One of the German contributors on RS246 forum was told by his dealer within the last week or so that the RS4 won't be back in production until 2020. Whilst it seems crazy as Audi are having to test every single model and transmission variant for WLTP the niche models that sell in very low volumes could very well be at the bottom of a very long list.

And on the subject of buying garage ornaments - defo buy used, put a private plate on it and dodge the brutal depreciation bullet.

No update from my side Nick, car still stuck in Grimsby too.
Dealer reckons to have an update in the next week or 2, as the 2.0 TDI Stronic WLTP figures will (Should) be fixed by then and certified .
He is confident I should see the car before Santa comes. (Fingers crossed)
Thanks

Just had this update from Arval (who provide our company cars).

We have received information that the CO2 for the new vehicle leaseid 1393667 will have the CO2 adjusted due to the new WLTP Emission’s testing procedure, the vehicle you have ordered will now have a CO2 Emissions change from 109 to 120 an increase of 11g/km.

We have price protect your quote in terms of your base price, however this will have an impact on your benefit in kind which we are unable to protect as this is managed through the HMRC. We would recommend that you check with the HMRC how this will affect the tax you pay. We will be reporting this new confirmed CO2 to payroll.

This equates to an increase in BIK tax of around £40 / month. Not good, but not unexpected as is in line with the increase we have seen from other manufacturers.

Despite cancelling my A4 around a month ago I still follow the thread. Still seems a mixed bag. The A6 I ordered instead has been built already and is in the UK and due at the dealer within the week so cancelling has worked out very well. Fingers crossed for you all

The only positive to take from this is that there are some confirmed WLTP figures now knocking about so fingers crossed all the cars won’t be sitting at ports for too much longer...

I was pretty much told sometime in the spring but to be honest the sales lady wasn't that informative and messed up both the order and the PX.

My build date has been pushed back to 25 February 2019 :(
Order Tracking page has brought my build week date forward to 21 January again (from 25 February). That's the date I was originally given last week.

So has anyone taken delivery of an A4 since this thread started?

Really glad I cancelled mine.

One to avoid - Multileasing - they refused to refund admin fee for a car which was ordered for June/July delivery. Currently with the credit card company.

What engine is that on Nick?

I ordered an S-Line 190 TDI Ultra S-Tronic - which was 109 g/km under NEDC. The Ultra variant has now been dropped and I am told my car is now 120 g/km under WLTP.

Glad Ive only got to pay £20 P.A on my 190ps diesel. Great mix of performance and economy. Frustrating thing is the small 40 litre tank. Didn’t realise but people can spec the larger tank for free back then. What has the VED gone up to for a personal car on the 2.0tdi 190ps?

This is what interest me as well, I had ordered a 150 TDi 6 Speed S-Line Avant based on the emissions on my car lists and was expecting it to be £320 a month in deductions, guessing this will go up. I am lucky that I have been given a temp 67 plate 19o TDI Ultra S-Tronic which is costing me £350 at the moment, which I have now been given the option to keep instead.

Only this I am holding on for at the moment is finding out what the emissions will be, and what it will look like (as in what wheels are going to be on the UK S-Line) I had ordered Daytona Grey and the one I have is white which I am not a fan of in the Avant. I am also not a fan of the S-Tronic gearbox unless its in dynamic mode.

@IanD18 it’s going to be difficult going from 190ps to 150ps.
Agreed and 2nd this,
I had a B8.5 150ps TDI, and currently now got a 190ps TDI (Ultra) and the difference albeit is only "40" ps it does make a BIG difference.

I am waiting now for my ordered 190PS Stronic on company car so will also be hit with the slightly higher tax bill, but I did know it was coming TBH.

Ordered the FOC larger fuel & Ad blue tank too as with the miles I do I am at Halfords every couple of months for the Ad blue ....

I know its going to be a bit of a change to reduce the power, but 90% of the time i'm sitting in traffic.
I should have gone with the 320d Msport as i'd have had it by know, but needed to sensible with kids and dogs with the avant as I couldn't have the BMW touring, unless it was the Efficient dynamics, which looks dull.

Looking forward to the photos. Pretty hefty car. 20” rims I think? Are you using the 190ps diesel or petrol.
19" as standard and is the 200bhp 2.0 diesel. Currently the wife has a 3 year old Polo GTI on lease (£134 a month!) so it will be slower car but much nicer to drive. We plan to put a tuning box on it anyway.
