So today driving to work my A/C was set full blowers and on LO and it basically wasn’t working!

Tried turning on and off serveral times and chnging what mode and vents but it was only when I parked up after 20 minute drive that it started blowing cold?!
Anyone any ideas?

Agree Low Gas. Mine did the same.Had it re-gassed.Now ok.

This is on my new car, only covered 700 miles!
Old A4 is long gone now!
Shouldn't be low gas in that time then...unless you have a leak! I've not used the AC much in the A5, but I did notice it has a AC eco mode...not sure how that works...are you 100% sure you just had it set to AC on? Not insulting your intelligence, but it's easy to overlook the obvious when panicking a bit when you think something is broken.

I almost called the AA out years back when my car wouldn't start, at the last minute I noticed I'd turned it off and left the auto stick in D...that would have been embarrassing :)

Thanks, Definitely not anything I did.
Tried auto function as usually have it set to feet and screen.
Tried in both A/C eco and A/C on
Fan speed up and down
All different vent combinations in the end left it in auto on Lo.
Must have been about 5 more mins driving then when I parked up it got very cold and started blowing hard

Very puzzling!

Will test it out again tonight on way to work see if there is something strange that stops the AC working!
My fuel light was on but 70miles range, wouldn't have thought car was trying to save fuel?!

Hmmm does seem odd, the only other thing I can think of is if you do a lot of short trips and the battery is low....does the stop/start kick in as I know everything has to be just right for that to work.

Not experienced that particular problem but the system does seem extremely agricultural.

On the focus I used to set 18/19 on a warm day and 20/21 on a cold one and aside from maybe using a higher temperature initially to get the heat flowing I wouldn’t need to touch it again, I constantly seem to be fiddling with temperatures on the a5, at 19 it seems to blow ice cold and 20 red hot... my OCD won’t let me set 19.5!

Just to update on this, still no idea why it did it but it hasn’t happened since!

I agree it seems strange with the heat setting as I left my old car on 21 and it was generally fine for hot or cold weather, makes sense being climate control.
On the new car always changing between 18-19 when it’s hot then to 21 when it gets chilly!

Maybe it’s just more accurate for temperature than my old A4! Anyway normally cold in UK so 21 is fine by me!
