RS3 8V - Video reviews, clips and more

Nice to see the FL get the gunshot bang again, even if it took stage 2.

10.1 - 1/4mile and spanks a Ferrari F12 TDF 770bhp

Apparently 668 hp at the wheels - WTF!

Very interesting. Slight jump off the line by the RS5. All but similar in a straight line up to 90mph as expected. RS3 sounds much better, though.

Still doesn't have the bang that BillyMC got with his Stage 2. Looks like he was very impressed with it.

I have to ask though, are you not worried about warranty? The upgrades must cost a bit too, I'm guessing total cost including the car must be closing in on £60k.

@billymc92 That gunshot is something I get sometimes too but chances are very slim. Does this happens often on downshifts or is it just lucky captured?

That's true, even without any mods I hope I don't need to use warranty, since it'll be my only car, but that security net is great. I don't think any other £60k car has 510ps, actually I don't think any other £45-50k car has 400 BHP like the stock FL RS3 does (apart from TTRS).

New A Class was shown during Geneva Motor Show. Also some more info here: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/2018-mercedes-benz-class-starting-price-confirmed-£25800. New A class starts at £25,800 which sounds quite expensive to me and that's for the diesel 180d, petrol is £27,500. The current A3 starts at £20,365 by comparison. No news on new A45 apart from it having more than 400 BHP and coming out in 2019. New A250 AMG is £30,240 and has 221BHP, old one competed with the Golf GTI so this seems £2-3k too expensive plus it has less BHP than current GTI lol.

exterior apart from the orange colour looked good, but that screen looks dreadful

Yeah I like the overall shape of it and parts of the interior but as a package it seems worse than the current A3, let alone the next one and its more expensive too. Starting at £25,800 means its only £2k less than the A4 which starts at £27,800 and BMW 3 series at £27,760. The current A class starts at £20,715 so I'm not sure where the £5k price hike has come from. They are making an A43 AMG to compete with S3/Golf R and A45 to compete with RS3. The Golf R 5 Door starts at £33,500, so the A250 AMG being £30,240 sounds like death on arrival. I'm guessing A43 will be £35-37k and A45 will be £42-45k.

This modded FL RS3 got exhaust flames with a scorpion exhaust.

Err that Quebec, Canada guy has made his FL RS3 Saloon even worse than it was before.

Hilarious ! I can't believe there are over 1000 people that like that.

All you needed was a stock RS3 FL in there too so we can see the difference for each stage.

Some more modified RS3 FL exhausts. This one is stage 2 Iroz motorsport with a catless downpipe.

This one has been tuned with a mid and secondary pipe.

2018 Audi RS3 Review in details

This is one if not the best hot hatch ever made and I am coming from an A45 AMG

PROS

- Great Engine and power, tons of torque from very low RPM 2000 very linear power and almost no lag
- amazing interior and material used from CF, Alcantara and NAPPA, super well build quality
- Exterior is really modern and futuristic, the LED lights are cool, I wish they had the Matrix as the option
- The sound of the engine and exhaust from inside and outisde is mesmerizing and very addictive, it makes all other competition from A45 AMG, focus RS, Golf R and even the new 718 Caymam GTS sounds so boring..

CONS

- No Memory seats like other Audi models and even other same category brands
- I feel some lag in auto mode, I prefer to use the M mode which makes the experience better
- The central screen is too small, they should have included a option for bigger and wider one
- The body fenders should be wider and meaner
- the graphics in the central screen are not so good!
- The navigation sound (very German manly man) is annoying

I think the RS3 is the best in its category, it offers tons of performance and does sacrifice any comfort! look, sounds great and it is very well equipped 4/5 Stars

Well the central screen is small because its from 2013, wait for the next gen A3 and it'll be bigger and most likely touchscreen only......................Personally I have no problem with it, I hardly even look at it when you have virtual cockpit. Even if it was 30 inch screen, what would you need it for? You want to watch movies while driving?

I don't really have a problem with the screen, the "older" style ones were too small and the quality is pretty rubbish. But the newer ones that take up the entire screen, I think are of reasonable size and good quality. Sure a bit bigger would be nice but I don't really see the need for it (equally, I don't want a touch screen!)
Audi A3 Sedan Review MMI screen

Yeah I should correct myself in that the standard screen in 2013 was smaller and had bigger bezels but the current bigger one was still available as an option. It's actually what I chose in my S3 - Tech pack advanced had it and virtual cockpit but now it doesn't exist. I'm happy with how the screen is currently but fear the next gen won't be a pop-up one and will be bigger and touchscreen only, similar to the current VW Golf one.
