Hi All

I would normally take the wife’s car when parking at an airport but having to take the S4 in a few months!

Can anyone recommend the best/safest parking that you’d be happy to leave your pride and joy at Stansted airport?

Only away for 2 nights I might add so a short stay car park should be ok.

Thanks

We parked our B9 in Short stay premium last year @ Stanstead when we went to Bologna for the weekend and car was fine, coincidentally we'll be doing the same again next week when we're off to Palermo for the week, its not a covered car park so your car is exposed to the elements, but from our experience of airport multi-storey you're more likely to result in your car being bumped as there's usually much less space for other drivers to manoeuvre, it's only a short walk to terminal and was easy 24hr access as its numberplate recognition.

Like NickGun, I've used the uncovered short stay premium and normal short stay with no problems at all. I've also used meet and greet there (which isn't as convenient as I thought it should be), but at least that way, any damage is down to them.

Much rather take a airport taxi than leave any of our cars with airport parking. Less hassle too...

Thanks guys, yes an outdoor car park where I can try find a ‘good spot’ could be the way.

@cuke2u - I’m about 1 1/2 hour drive and taxi a £200 return so probably way more expensive than driving mine and paying parking but if it’s not much more then yes that would be my preference.

I leave my cars at the airport all of the time without a problem. At Stansted I always use premium shortstay paid in advance.
I would never use any of the meet and greet or valet parking especially at Stanstead, I know which field they are Park in!

I always use premium short stay too as I like to keep possession of the keys. You are more likely to have a problem in a supermarket car park.

Same here , I opt for orange short stay premium, then park at the top end as people want to squeeze in as close to the terminal as possible. I then opt for an end space and park as far over as possible.

Do the same for London city, and pod parking at Heathrow, just choose your space and you should be fine!

Yep as others have said the meet and greet parking is usually in fields and would much rather not have anyone doing full blooded launches from the lights in our B9 then dumping it into a field... And like you we're a long way from from Stansted (3hrs), so the short stay premium parking done online in advance is the best option for us.
