I have a 2007 S3 Manual. If I press the ESP button quickly or if I press and hold the message comes up instantly in both cases......can anyone shed more light on this?

I have a 2007 S3 Manual. If I press the ESP button quickly or if I press and hold the message comes up instantly in both cases......can anyone shed more light on this?
I forgot to say that after reading what CrypticS3 said and trying it out for myself in my 2007 Manual S3, I found exactly the same where no matter what I do, whether that be just quickly pressing the ESP button or holding it for 5 seconds, then both the ESP off light and message come up instantly. Then either pressing or holding it again turned it off with the ESP/ASR On message coming on.
I thought that these kits like the CTS Turbo Outlet Pipe were just fit & forget? I know it reduces the turbulence caused by the Turbo Muffler and so increases throttle response due to better air flow, but as it's such a marginal improvement unlike adding a CAI or TBE then it doesn't need mapping to be benefited from?

No, more of a propulsion power adjustment as per OP’s request
But going on a diet always helps shed stones off the loaded vehicle mass
