RS3 8V - Video reviews, clips and more

Haha what a joke car inside and out.
As I said another thread the Merc designer's need shooting.
That dash looks embarrassing.

Agreed, interior is dreadful. The screen looks better now its blended with the speedo but it looks stupid that they didn't blend it with the dash. I just don't see the point of a touchscreen that high up in the middle of the dash - you cant reach it

According to the earlier Carwow video, the touchscreens are so high up so you don't look too far away from the road. I'm not a fan of touchscreens in cars in general, some can work fine like the Golf one which has buttons on the side. This A class though even got touch navigation on the steering wheel and a touch pad instead of the old wheel.

Umm, it is not bad enough for me NOT to consider it.
Overall, it is fine. Get used to big screens, it is the way of the future.

Bad:
I really do not like the Air Vents, the amount of clutter on the sides of the door, the general lines of the interior and how it flows.

Good:
I LIKE that dash. it is different.
The seats look good.
I like the central armrest and the steering wheel.

If the car looks mean in AMG style and goes and sounds well then it will be on my shortlist.

This is the best picture I've seen of the interior. I'd expect the next gen A3 to have similar lighting. I don't mind big screens, its how they look and fit the dash that are the problem. I agree the armrest looks good and the steering wheel is fine apart from the touch scrolling, I think it'll lead to more accidental inputs than the scroll wheels we have. One thing I'm curious about is the leg room, I remember when I drove a 17 plate C class cabriolet that the centre consoles thing was very wide and it took up too much leg room compared to the S3, there also wasn't a foot rest so you'd just keep your legs stretched out all the time.

A new Nogaro Blue special edition RS6 before the next gen A6 comes out - https://www.topgear.com/car-news/behold-198mph-audi-rs6-nogaro-edition

Is this the stock RS3 FL exhaust? Seems more popcorny.

Is it wrong to be thinking about upgrading turbo before the car even turns up!!!!!!!!!

Some interesting facts about the standard and upgraded turbo setup.

Hmm interesting. Not interested in modding the RS3 when I get it other than maybe for more sound but it is nice tech.

Not so sure I agree with some points, but that’s subjective and I’m obviously going to be slightly bias towards my £45k toy..

But good to see (hear) the engine note being praised.

BMW interior better WTF?

Sold my BMW because I couldnt live with poor comfort and cheap feeling interior and that was a 3 series, 2 series even worse. Ive sat in an M2, the seats look cheap and thats their sports seats (which I had in my car), and the general feeling is of cheapness is apparent.

8V interior isnt as nice as 8L but its the best available. Audi have to be careful dont want quality of materials to be an issue.

Another case of, why didn't they compare the M2 to the TTRS instead of the RS3? In terms of price, the M2 is in the middle. RS3 Saloon is £45,675, M2 is £46,695 for Manual or £48,940 for Auto and TTRS is £52,450, so if you're just comparing auto's, its right in the middle.

Just posted this

BMW M2 feels better quality interior, are you for real!? Not in a million years. My mate has an M2 and I have an RS3 saloon. "The Audi has a much better interior than the M2" (exact quote from my M2 mate).

Another quote from my mate who had a 15 plate m3 before getting the M2...."the M2 is a far better balanced car than the overrated poorly balanced latest gen M3"

I haven't watched the video yet, but...What planet is that guy on? The BMW M2 does not have a better interior than the RS3 and the seats are especially disappointing to look at next to the Audi's.

I will say that I think the BMW is marginally the better looking car and I love the squat, wide stance. The RS3 could do with being more like it in that regard, evidenced by the fact that half this forum are buying spacers!

The M2 is probably more fun in the dry, too. But Audi do seem to be getting their game together and for all weathers, is just about unbeatable.

As for the price points of the cars, the M2 is a little more expensive on paper, but BMW are very reasonable with their standard kit and discounts available. Audi on the other hand royally take the p*** with their options.

You're right with the discounts but its mainly the RS3 that has quite low discounts. M2 on Ukcarbroker gets £4k off base price. TTRS on same website gets £5.6k off base price. Meanwhile RS3 only gets £2.6k off base price. RS4 has £3k off, RS5 has £5k off, RS6 has £10.7k off and RS6 Performance has £11.7k off. One thing I think BMW do a lot better is having options raise the GFV.

I was offered some stunning deals on M2's, and if doing PCP their GFVs are higher and finance rates far more competitive than Audi.

TTRS is the next rung up IMO. List price with options on mine was over £60k but deals do seem to be about.

As I have said before, personally I find finance deals on cars are madness. Cars depreciate and loans appreciate - the worst of both worlds.

When I was paying cash for mine there was a rather old lady taking finance to the tune of £37k on something - seriously, she was 65+. wtf?

For me I know I'm not going to keep the car after the period so the total cost isn't too far off. For example, my current car cost £33k, I put in £7,800 deposit (some of that was my old car P/X) and pay £300 a month for 2 years (actually for 23 months). My GFV is £20,900. So the total cost is £14.7k for the 2 years of owning the car. If I bought the car and sold it after 2 years for its GFV, it'd cost me £12.1k. So I'm losing £2,600 by going PCP instead of buying it with cash. At the moment, it looks likely that my car will be worth less than the GFV when the PCP ends so it could cut the loss of going PCP over cash. I just didn't want to put £33k into the car up front.

Seems fair amount of money to spend for 2 years use

Why? Financing is the best option to buy an expensive car/purchase as you can then use the cash to buy an appreciating asset instead.

IMO, you are mad paying cash for a car when you could buy an investment, like house, instead....but it depends where you live/your appetite to risk/etc e.g.

Buy a £35K car on finance lets say costs you £40K with interest and £5K deposit. Then with the remaining £30K you use that as a deposit to buy a flat / house to rent. After a year the flat appreciates by £100K, then it makes sense to buy the car on finance

Otherwise you are tying your cash in a depreciating asset. Best to use someone else's money to do that and suffer the interest payment.

but the m2 is a 2 door coupe like the ttrs...sure it has 4 seats but the 2 in the rear are small and have little leg room. Its an important things these dimwit reviewers forget. As a family man with 2 kids i wouldn't even consider the M2 as it has 2 doors which is right royal pain in the a..e if i am often carrying passengers....M2 is fine if you have no family or mates...but its a fine car and equal fav BMW with the M4. I'm not keen on the M3 looks

Yeah it but I'd rather spend £14.7k spread out over 2 years than £33k at once. I only did 2 years because I don't usually own my cars for long, longest I've owned a car is 3 and a half years. I'm looking to get the FL RS3 at the end of this PCP and I'll get a 3 year one on that, it'll line up nicely with the 3 year warranty and Audi Connect subscription.

Hi guys,

Made this little video of my ice-driving experience ;) Nokian is futured because they gave me the tires. The conditions where not that great, the track was really narrow and the snowbanks was pure ice, so I did not risk my bumpers going all crazy:) Anyway, here it is:

PCW Mod to FL RS3. It says resonator and backbox have been modified.

A bit more crackles with this eTuners one.

Man the PFL exhaust bang was mental. Hope they find a way to bring it back in the future. Beat the E63 lol.

The last Ford Focus RS for this generation. Heritage Edition with 372BHP, 376 ft/lb and Quaife limited-slip front differential as standard for £39,895.

You should see the thread over on the owners forum about them... the way it been released is a joke and embarrassing by Ford

To make it even worse, some customers who were first on the list with a deposit down months ago are now being told they can’t have them because the Dealer Principals are keeping them for themselves

I was going to pay £37,000 cash for my PFL but in the end I changed my mind and got a loan for £25,000 and kept £12000 in cash, then:
  • Spent £3000 on a long weekend to Ibiza with my mates
  • Spent £1000 on alcohol for a party with the same mates
  • Spent £3000 on cocaine
  • Spent £2000 on whores

The rest I wasted.

You get some nice bangs with that. I'd like to see some videos on FL RS3 sports exhaust cars after 5-10k miles as some people here are saying it pops and bangs more and sounds better after those miles. I know my FL S3 did after 7-8k miles.

This car sounds pretty good, modified his spoiler too but I swear he just put the volume to max or something.

Iroz Motorsport got a 750 BHP Stage 3 RS3 FL.

The pops and bangs in this car seem to be louder. Maybe this is the higher mileage example of it.
