Hi All

I have had my 2015 S3 now for about 6 months and admittedly there are wee things that bug me but generally love the car, it looks stunning and Pulls pretty well plus the previous owner didnt cover even 7000 miles with it. The issue is the roads in and around some parts of Glasgow royally suck and I hit a pothole and have really badly damaged one of the front wheels

Now i am contemplating putting a set of aftermarkets on and replacing the damaged wheel if i trade the car in but i am not sure if i should stay with 18" or go to 19" and what fitment on 19" would be suitable without any rubbing, the car doesn't have mag ride from what i understand.

Thanks in advance and any advice would be appreciated

plenty discussed already, you can use the search to find various threads and owners posting their specs what they are running with. good luck.

If your local roads are bad with 18" wheels, on presumably 40 profile tyres, what do you think it will be like on 19" with 35 profile tyres?

Probably worse than now, you'll be scanning the road for smaller potholes than now to avoid!

I hit a pothole and I thought the wheel would definitely be a writeoff. But I took it to a local place and they straightened it out - just over £100 I think.

Edit - and I got that plus a new tyre back off the council.

The roads aren't always a bad as they are at the moment and I was planning on getting the originals checked to see if it can be fixed or a replacement would be needed. 19" just look more commanding on the car, but I do take all points on board.

RichardT the claims in there but the woman on the phone was giving it the usual if we fix it in 24 hours nonsense
