So my car is revo stage 1 and recently I've fitted a hybrid.. Currently I'm running the engine in after fitting rods.. Turbo at actuator pressure..

Now I have stock injectors fitted but recently accepted delivery of some bosch 550cc ones..

Can I go ahead and fit the 550s and resume running in period or should I remain with stock injectors until remap?

Cheers folks

Care to elaborate on why tufty? Just curious.

Because the ECU doesn't know they are fitted and while it will adapt out the extra fulling over time you still stand a chance of running too rich and potentially risk bore wash from over fuelling...

Plenty of revs and coast down while running the engine in, dont be scared to let the turbo boost to actuator pressure.
Get those rings bedded in well!

Swop the injectors at the place of mapping. Bill was good enough to get the young'n to swop mine over while doing a smoke test pre mapping

Tbh I don't have the patience for 'running a engine in' or type of technique.. I've just been driving relatively normally.. Actually quite aggressive but done 60 miles and nothing bad happened, so good so far. :)

How does this dyno business work? Does mapper do first run on actuator pressure? And is that first run on stock injectors or 550s?

550's will be fitted, base map will have the settings for the 550's in... dyno runs then at a base line boost to establish how the actuator will react then upped from there along with any timing or other fine tuning

This is good, drive it how you would !

This Sam..

Let us know how you get on!

Whats the spec?

Spec is..

Bbt hybrid ported exhaust housing.
B5 gen2 China fold.
Welly cooler 76mm pipework.
B5 v3 tip
3inch downpipe flows into stock exhaust (baffles removed).

Bosch 550s
Inline fuel pump
Rebuilt head (standard valves)
Block honed, piston rings done
Max speeding rods

Really looking forward to getting it mapped.. Really wanna meets up with the guys at B5 but Its too far away so prob be local mapper but need to wait and see :)

Future stuff is water meth kit.. N/a cams and 3inch exhaust..

Always worth travelling to a well-reputed tuner. For a slightly higher fuel bill as a one-off, to know it's all done properly is worth every penny.

I know it's killing me not going to bills but I literally do not trust this car.. Everytime I've travelled long distances something bad has happened.. Wait and see might still be a possibility, haven't spoke to local tuner yet.

If it's not up to making the journey there, it's probably not up to be mapped. Sort out any issues, then make the trip.

Awesome stuff mate! Let us know how she drives!

What's the full spec if ya don't mind me asking? :)

Do it. I drove from Newcastle. Theres a travel lodge right next to Bills.
And the traval lodge has a subway and a shell garage in the same car park.
What more do you want ? ;)

Worth the one off fuel bill as mentioned above. Make a weekend of it like I did and book in for a monday?

Be interested to see how your car gets on, were very similar mods (i was mapped on pro4 manifold which has since **** itself and im now ported chinafold yet to be dyno'd) and I managed 342 at Bills on BBT K418T :)

When i get my engine rebuilt i will be using bill and i will be travelling from Northern Ireland. I dont trust anyone here to do it and if i have to travel to the best then it will be money well spent and good peace of mind.
