Guys,

I have a really annoying problem on my A4 B6 1.9 115. Since I bought it, it has been vibrating under acceleration in 4th and 5th gears only. I took it to a mechanic who said he took off the rocker cover and inspected the cam and it was worn so this was the problem. Thing is yesterday a new cam kit was fitted and the problem still exists. This morning I drove it and the vibration was less in 4th and none in 5th. Later today when pushing it on in 5th between 50-60mph it shakes very badly through the car and doesnt happen in 4th anymore. It goes away after around 5-10 seconds. I am feeling very annoyed with this car being told one thing, spending a fortune and the problem still existing. Could it be something else? Could it be there isnt enough lubrication on the new cam? Someone please shed some light on this as I cant go back to him untill Monday.

Injector loom and blocked fuel filter can cause vibrations. I'd look for another garage as clearly a new cam hasn't solved your issue.

Vcds would be a good place to start to check for loom issue.
Fuel filters are cheap and easy to replace. Cured friends vibration on his A4.

2 wheel drive or quattro ?

I presume you've had the wheels balanced ?

2 wheel, yeah its not the wheels. thinking it could be the rear gearbox mount as the gearknob violently shakes when u floor it in 5th between 50-60mph.
