As the title states really, what tyres did your new S3 come with?

Mine was delivered today and came with Hankooks. Never really seen these fitted to new cars before but from my limited knowledge I gather they are a 'decent' tyre.

Mine also came with Hankooks, reviews vary quite a bit eg.

2016 AutoBild UHP Summer Tyre Test
2nd: Hankook Ventus S1 evo2

Total: 15 / Dry: 6 / Wet: 9
Positive: Very high resistance to aquaplaning, shortest braking in the wet
Overall: Exemplary

2016 EVO Summer Performance Tyre Test
8th: Hankook Ventus S1 evo2
Total: 525.9 / Dry: 98.6 / Wet: 94.6 / Subjective: 154.9 / Comfort: 86.4 / Rolling Resistance: 91.4
Overall: The worst tyre in the wet, saved from last place by a mid table performance in the dry. OK on the road, but lacking elsewhere.

Pirelli P Zeros seem to be standard for Australian deliveries of the FL S3.

Bridgestone Turanzas on mine...10k miles done since last Sept and all 4 are not far off needing replacement, oops!!

I think I would trust the Germans on this one !

But still hankooks to me are certainly not michelins! :D

I asked my salesman what mine would come with and his reply was: "I wouldn’t have a clue! Audi AG must buy them in massive batches. I’ve Hankook on that A3 (zoom in and you’ll see) and had those on 2 of my 3 A4’s last year, and I have no complaints. S3 more likely to get Conti / Michelin / Bridgestone / Pirelli (latter v unlikely). Chap who sits opposite me has Hankook on his TT 2.0T Quattro S Line and has no issues and he belts around everywhere! We don’t / won’t swap them tho!"

Continental's on mine. Seem ok, never had them before and will probably swap them out for Michelin's when the time comes.

I wouldn't be too impressed if mine had come with Hankooks rather than one of the big name brands as personal preference. I noticed a few years ago a lot of the manufacturers had moved from Continental as the brand of choice for space saver tyres to Hankooks (I'm aware how geeky it is to notice that !)

Seems to be no standard fit tyre then, 19's seem to Continentals and the 18's get whatever they've got laying around :tearsofjoy:

On a plus side though, seriously impressed with the car and after having a Mercedes and BMW before, Audi certainly make the best interiors IMO.

One that I just noticed is a ring mark on the steering wheel (I don't wear one) :disrelieved: emailed the lease company. As it only came yesterday I hope they get it sorted or it will drive me mad! Don't know how I missed it spent a good 10 mins looking the car over when it came.

Yeah my dealer said it is very random what you get. The common tyre on the 18" rims seem to be either Bridgestone or Hankooks. 19" sometimes get Michelin's but it's very rare.

That's annoying. One thing I hate about VAG interiors is how quickly the steering wheel goes glossy, so I'm trying my best to be gentle with my grip lol

I know it's right there in front of me now I can't help but notice it every 2 seconds :tearsofjoy:

My A3 came with Continentals. They've been superb for 20 months and all of them still have around 4mm tread left from new (one had 5mm left but had damage to the tyre wall after a severe puncture so replaced with another Conti).

I think the FL Saloon S3 comes with Pirelli P Zero now, could be random as people say though.

My FL S3 Saloon came with P Zeros, and ****** awful they are too, just like they were on my Leon Cupra R.

Can't wait to wear them out.

My pre FL came with conti sport 5's and my FL came with P zeros and like paradigital said above I am not really rating the p zeros be honest. They have a decent rim protection. I kept my Michelin super sport from the pre facelift going to put those back on soon.

Dr.leather wipes or sprays!

I guarantee it will stay like new with that stuff!

Im praying my car has either pirellis or contis on,
Contis are crap but a predictable crap...
pirellis are good, but not so great in cold wet weather.

Dunlop tyres always seem bargain basement!
Sounds like something you can buy in
sports-direct!! Especially as everything in there seems to be branded dunlop... not something I want to see on a 35k+ car.

Obviously buy one get one free at the kwik fit in ingolstadt :D

Dunlops on mine. Sportmaxx something or other on 18's. I'd rate them as unremarkable.

The evo test results are very credible, remember they are testing them on British roads which differ dramatically to those found in Germany.

To be fair to Dunlops, my S5 came with Sport Maxx on when new and my heart sunk. But they were actually ok.
I always prefer Michelin so I replaced them when the car was 2 years old. Certainly much better.
My S3 Saloon came in November with 19" P Zero fitted.

Are they really that bad? I thought they would be better then the Contis? Always preferred Michelin myself though.

They don't have much feel, and I don't particularly rate them in anything other than warm, dry conditions.

I'll be fitting MPS4S.

FL S3 saloon, p-zeros. Good rim protection, not sure how they rate compared to other 19s but what is slightly annoying is how they crab when turning at low speed.

Hankooks on my new FL S3. No complaints so far (noticed Hankooks on a new S4 the other day too).

Somehow being fitted with Hankook tyres doesn't seem right. The tyres might be great - never owned a set but - but in the back of my head I hear this voice saying 'my designed and built euro sports sedan should be equipped with a euro tyre'. Conti's, Michelin, Pirelli, Dunlop even.

If I wanted to own a set of Hankook tyres I'd have ordered a Kia.

Dunlops on our S3 FL with 18s. Hankook are a reputable make, just fairly new in the U.K. as a premium brand. Put them on our Mini JCW when I took the run flats off because the mini forum guys rated them.

I'm sure they are a decent product...... just not what I was expecting.

I'm hoping in the tyre lottery ( it seems that Hankook are not the only type fitted) I finish up with something other than Hankook.

Mine came in November with Hankooks fitted. To be honest I've had no major complaints but then with all the damp weather I've not pushed too hard. I was disappointed that for a premium car I'd have hoped for more premuim tires (unfitted on mytyres they ate just £65 each!)

Sums up my thinking about the combination of Audi and Hankook but you have had the added experience of driving the car for a few months with them on.

Time will tell.

Yes the Ventus s1 evo2.

Was a little disappointed to find Hankooks on my S3. Once I drove it however, very impressed with them. Excellent grip in the wet.
