Facelift Traction Control too obtrusive?

TC has never kicked in on mine and i definitely don't drive it like a saint.

On a side note I've just moved house and there's a guy a few houses down with a '66' M140i and he purposefully now goes down to the end of road when he doesn't need to and blips it past mine because he's seen the S3 on the drive, wonder who would win that race :gun2:

Got the TC light to blink this morning.

Second gear, empty roundabout, light frost. Thought I'd do a little experimenting.

In comfort mode it suffered from a little understeer. Flashed the TC light a couple of times and then got on with the job. No massive interruptions in power delivery though. In dynamic mode it went round the roundabout without to much fuss at all. No traction control intervention.

In Ham Fisted Gibbon mode I went in a little quicker, turned in hard, dropped the clutch in second half way round like a proper moron, floored the throttle and got it to break traction. It really didn't make a lot of fuss though, it just got a little wiggly about the hips, and then shot off up the road like a ****** missile.

It does appear that if everything's working as it should, even the most ham fisted of drivers needs to thrash the car like a ginger step-child to get it to really misbehave.

So, contrary to my previous prognosis, I'd say that if you have an S3 with consistent TC intervention, you might need to pay a visit to the dealer.

Dare I ask - Is the TC issue restricted to FL S3s with a certain option? :whistle2:

Ive tested mine on the way home today and its usually when you accelerating hard and you go over a hill or slight dip which then triggers the traction control, ive done another 60 miles trying to make it happen on the way home and it was a little damp as well, tbh, this is the only time ive spotted it step in. Other than that mine seems perfectlt fine.
Gibbon mode kicked in when i completely disabled it and we had some fun

Sorry ive missed a big point. Im also on a dtuk fsr+ on 1 +2 map which to me is the best for power delivery and it still didnt let go unless in exceptional circumstances, so as mentioned above, if yours is constantly kicking in, you best go see the stealer..
