If I use my iPhone as a sat nav device, can I get the audio directions to play through the cars speakers, either via bluetooth or a cable?

My car does not have an Aux socket but does have the AMI socket in the centre armrest box.

Done it via Bluetooth. It fades the music down when giving directions.

Out of interest are you also listening to bluetooth music at the time?

Haven't tried in the Audi but listening to Bluetooth audio streaming was a requirement for the satnav sounds to be played on my Focus ST

Yes. Also allows you to here when you have a text. What's app message ect. When connected via cable it did not. I also tried to use an older cable and also bought the proper apple lightning adaptor to see if it worked. It allowed album artwork, but never really gave me any benefit, as novelty worked off. I don't have the upgrade mmi. As spent the difference on other extras like b and o, tints ect.

Same on the A3, you need to be streaming audio through Bluetooth to get audio GPS instructions
