Hi, anyone recommend a particular company? The dealership want £799 over three years, I think they were having a laugh.
Cheers...

That's ridiculously expensive. Most I've paid at a dealer was £199 and that was steep compared to standalone policies. Remember you can get a few different policy, like back to invoice or just cover outstanding finance. A good few on here have them. Someone will be able to guide you in the correct direction.

+1 for ALA. Used them for years and on the previous 3 cars. Very helpful if you have questions too.

Thanks for all your replies, yes ALA is on my list but I seem to be getting quotes at around £240...

I got mine through gapinsurance.co.uk.

Got my 3 year gap for £107.

The company is very highly rated on babybmw forum of which I also frequent. There a 10% discount code available on there too. Then if you review them on their f/book page they refund you £5! (Every penny helps)

They seem to be amongst the cheapest for a replacement gap insurance, cheers for that. Can't work out the setting of the policy claim limit though...

The dealership matched my third party quote, think I paid around £175 for 3 years...
Was while I was signing the paperwork at collection...

I got mine from AMS who used to do the GAP insurance at my local dealer. I was offered £250 for return to invoice over 3 years and £275 for vehicle replacement over 3 years. There is a benefit limit of £25K, but for that to be of any significance my car would have to be worth less than £7K or so within the term of the policy. AMS are a delightfully old fashioned company and dealing with them was very easy. With my previous cars, it was all done through the dealership so I'd never had any direct contact.

Just transferred over the a4 onto my directline insurance and its cost me a whooping £9 extra. Also checked with them and they do a new for old in the first year if the car is written off.

Ala are excellent and will pricematch as well plus 20%difference.

I've already got a meal up to £150 for the two of us and they're going to pay for a professional detail, I think free GAP would be pushing it somewhat :)
