Just had some Sline 18in alloys refurbed and fitted to my SE. As I suspected the gap between the arches and the wheels/tyres is too much for my liking!
Has anybody managed to get some Sline springs from Audi or TPS and fit them to an SE? Both Audi and TPS will only supply parts relating to the reg number and not look up the specific parts.
I could use the reg of an sline 140 Tdi 2005 saloon I suppose.
Or would I just be better off using some aftermarket springs?
Any advice would be appreciated.

several possible ways to go here
buy s-line springs from dealer which will lower it 25mm more , which will still leave it stting a bit high on the fronts and a bit on the firm side, or, go aftermarket which is the better route to take.
Next plan ,which is the better plan go with, aftermarket setup, just springs or springs and dampers
Spring kits are very popular and very good value for money and are a good option to use with standard dampers etc, if you want to go up market a bit more coilovers kits etc or better dampers/spring kits, quite few to choose from.
Your budget will ultimately dictate your final descision but you can still get some good stuff without spending silly money.
how low do you want to go.

here you go.
first pic, s-line fronts which is 25mm lower than standard springs.
second pic is H&R springs which are 45mm drop all round , so another 15mm lower than sline.

Damian, what do you recommend for that better stance? Looking at 30mm from what I have, standard SE.
Budget after respray and alloys getting a bit tight so looking at Springs only.

Regards Mark

I hate to put a damper on your plans but have you had any work carried out on the car suspension recently, I only ask becuase if you are going to start changing springs etc it means disturbing different suspension parts and linkages, and as a lot of users on here will tell you it can turnout to be a really problematic job especially the front struts and connected parts.
if they have not been disturbed for sometime they can be a real pain to loosen/remove without a struggle and can soon turn into a bigger more expensive job wether it's a garage job or not, so just to be on safe side to be aware of these possible issues.
You'd be better off with 35mm allround really if 45mm is too low, s-line is 25mm less than what you have but still leaves quite a big space really, that extra 10mm will make a better look than just 5mm.

Ok so it's an A4 B7 Saloon, we just need to know the engine size and weather it's FWD or Quattro.

Hi Damian,
Yes it's a 2.0tdi FWD.

Cheers for the advice, both front and rear suspension has been worked on recently having bushes etc sorted.

Just out of interest has anyone compared the spring rates of the above to the S-Line springs at all?

Also as an aside am I the only person in the world who thinks the S-Line setup is fine? lol!

no, I didn't find them too bad either ,and did say this in an older thread, i just wanted to go lower and loose the gap which is not possible with s-line springs on oem dampers.

now youve done your dose the car sit even as we all have seen with the avant the back tends to sit lower than front with the factory s-line set up ?

Don't know mate I ditched the s line springs just after 2 months of having the car, wasn't happy with them & found the aftermarket springs to be actually more comfortable than the S-line set up.
While in my case you could have possibly blame it on the age/state of the springs, but with dozens of owners negatively rating the s-line set up same as me, you really might be a rare breed.

when its parked on level ground now the car is spot on level front to back , by default the Quattro's are high at the front or low at the back take your pick which way you call it, so its nice to see it sitting even now.

A lot of people recommend the eibach pro kit for a good drop without compromising comfort.
