I've only just realised that my car can set up a Wi-Fi hotspot and I can log on with my iPhone and through the MMI Connect App I should be able to browse and play music directly from the entertainment unit.
However something very annoying is happening with most of my songs. I've signed up for Apple Music which means I can download and listen to Apple Music offline and it seems like the MMI Connect App does recognise the songs. They're however all listed as Unplayable. I presume it has something to do with these songs have DRM but surely I should be able to play songs I've paid for.
Is there a work around or perhaps an update to the Audi MMI system that will make this work? Or should I just get used to streaming over BlueBooth which is working although I can't browse the songs from the Entertainment unit.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find any workaround this problem. So I'm limited to having to use Bluetooth streaming which is far from optimal but at least it works.

Whilst not as handy couldn't you use a ami lead and have full access to your Apple Music plus all the functionality too?

I pick up my Audi this week and have been looking into this. Think wifi streaming would be of better quality then of BT. but this DRM issue would effectively kill the Apple Music app. So just to clarify, just how is the audio quality when using BT? Do you have the B&O system too?

The AMI lead is naturally an option but as you said not handy. And in my universe if something is not handy I simply end up not using it.

I currently have a lot of music on the hard drive and then I stream from my iphone using BT. I have B&O and to be honest the sound quality is actually really good. I haven't been able to compare to Wi-Fi but I'm not having any issues with BT.
The only annoying thing is that you do not have full control when using BT. You can only change song and that's it. So either Audi or Apple please fix this DRM issue!
