Just thought I would start a thread to get peeps views on the V6T badge on my S4 and also just to mention some other little mods I've done or are in progress.

V6T - I think it looks really nice on these cars but I did go and buy some 'Supercharged' badges off the bay to replace them with. Now that they have turned up, I'm not so sure. These ones are metal, although really thin ones and I'm just concerned on the 'look' of them if I was to replace the stock badge. Wondered what you knowledgeable lot reckon - any advise? Are there thicker supercharged badges available?

In progress mod......interior trim was originally the brushed aluminum ones and last weekend it was all removed and delivered down to the guys at wicked coatings in Poole to be dipped into that water transfer carbon fiber stuff. This one I'm very excited about. Guess most people have seen the wheeler dealer vid of this process and I got to have a look about and see some other examples of their work when I went down there to drop the bits off and it does look superb! Can't wait to get these back, hopefully next week some time. I'll post up some before and after pics if anyone is interested.

Completed mod......red footwell LED's - speaks for itself really. Thanks to @t8ups for the supply. I've got the red nappa seats so I think it just sets off the interior with them fitted. Looks proper smart at night! I've left the other interior lights stock white.

So, that's about it for now. What should I do with the V6T?????? :)

I prefer the supercharged badges myself.
I had some of the thin metal ones, ordered a different type later & black chromed them
Interior trim should look spot on when done :rockwoot:

I didn't realise there was OEM ones....could you possibly give me a link to them? I'm like you, not sure I would be happy with them. It's little things like that that bug the you know what out of me!

How easy was it to remove the aluminium trim? i've been thinking about doing the same job on mine
Door and glovebox was easy peasy....just pull out. MMI one was the same, just pulled out but then had to remove the black screen surround, which is glued on. That needed a little more care and attention. As for the centre console trim.....well, it took me about 4 hours to get it all out, get the trim off and get it back into a drivable state. Obviously I wasn't going to put the whole thing back together just to have to take it out again in a week or so so I've left out the front ashtray and all the rear parts (vents, ashtray and 12v). That'll all go back in one I get the parts back.

It was a bit of a bitch of a job but I think the final results will be well worth it. It took me longer as I was being especially careful and because I was doing it at night with only the interior light and the torch on my phone! Now I know how it all comes apart it would be much quicker, I reckon I could do the whole job in about an hour now but yeah, better to be safe than sorry. There are a few guides online which I used as step by steps but one in particular was very useful. I'll post up a link when I get home tonight if you want?

Beauty thanks guys! Was a little bit disappointed i didn't haven't the carbon inserts on my car but at least if i get them dipped i can achieve the look :p

Yeah, same as mate. I test drove one that had them in, does look good. Unfortunately the one I got didn't have them, but it had the exterior black styling which was definitely higher on my 'want' list. I looked at getting the actual OEM carbon pieces but was looking like silly money, that's when I found out about this water printing transfer process malarkey. Seen the finished products as got to say, you probably wouldn't even know it wasn't real. Once it coated and buffed up, looks superb! And for around £250 for all eight pieces, I think it's money (and time!) well spent! Go for it! ;-)

@8BallAddict - Supercharged badges are the way to go IMO
I'm the same as @RyanJonS4 & went down the OEM badge route

More info, links & part no. for the Supercharged badges I fitted to my S4 here -

Contact Mike on the ASN parts request system for a price on the OEM Supercharged badges would be my advice
Cheers for all the info there buddy! Appreciated. Already decided the fleebay ones are definitely going back and I'm spending the extra on the OEM ones. I didn't realise they existed, thought they were all aftermarket! Bonus! Any idea what the UK dealer cost is? Cheapest I can find on eBay is £26 each, from Germany. I've submitted a pets request also .

Yea the exterior black pack was more important for me as well, having the interior parts done in carbon will help compliment the exterior better.

Can you put up a measurement of them when you get them mate. I want a set but I'm not spending £50 on 2 badges lol.

ECS carbon ones for me. Atlas carbon interior. Don't forget to get the templates 8Ball so you put them on straight like Chop. They should come with them. Just paper cut outs. The templates are for left and right but the badges face the same way for both sides.

Supercharged all the way...

I know the 'T' of the V6T stands for 'forced induction', but it'll always mean 'turbo' to me, so they had to go. A much cleaner look IMO & handy that it comes in carbon to match the interior.

Hummm, I'm afraid that my "quickly" bought supercharged badges are still hiding in their packaging two years on - I have prepared the templates though!

I still have my V6T badges because a) I'm an idiot and daren't attempt the swap b) I'm tight and OMG how much are the OEM ones?! Really? It's a badge. :)

Much respect to everyone who swapped them.

They're only stuck on so it really not a hard job to swap them out. I know the OEM ones are expensive but I've just bought some cheap ones and the are exactly that, cheap. You can practically fold them up like a piece of paper! There are some not so cheap, cheap ones that are thicker but still, they're cheap too ;-) This vid shows OEM Vs Replica.....

I guess it's all down to personal preference but after watching that, yes the replica ones would probably do the job and 99% of people wouldn't know the difference but the OEM ones just seem to be finished better, the lettering looks better and at the end of the day, these cars deserve nothing but the best. I've just spent 20k on the car and I couldnt go and stick £9.99 stickers on the side of it! OEM all the way for me, but each to their own! :s4addict:

I went with original carbon supercharged badges from dealer, I had bought them long before I had the car.
I also changed all my piano black trim for carbon, manged to source OEM but wasn't cheap.
I bottled changing the centre console, but the dealer changed the steering wheel, and all trims for £100 so for that money I wasn't going to risk it myself.

I've got eBay red and silver/aluminium on my car currently, but really fancy carbon on my black car.
I want to do the OEM route but can only find the part number for red and aluminium.

Don't suppose anyone knows the part number for the carbon ones please?

I've posted the carbon part number on here before, I'll track it down

I went with ebay carbon ones, mine were not that thin really, seemed pretty sturdy. Didn't come with templates but i stuck some masking tape under my V6T badges before removing them and used that to level the new badges up and marked the center points, seemed to do a good enough job :)
