Hi Guys,
I am asking this on behalf of my father, who has a 2006 a6 allroad.
Currently, there is a spot of rust coming through near to the top centre brake light.
He has been to the body shop today and they have told him that it looks as though it has been repaired/painted before, and whoever did so, made a complete hash of it, as there are rough patches and tape edges all over the place. They have also said that the interior plastic trim has been bodged back on with a lot of glue and will be difficult to remove without breaking anything.
They have recommended to my father that he should source a replacement tailgate and swap over and paint to the cars colour if necessary.
My father and I have struggled to find a straight swap for an allroad and are wondering if a tailgate from a normal avant will fit the allroad? Without any major alterations needed to fit it.
If anyone can shed any light on this, or know anywhere where he can buy a tailgate from it would be very much appreciated.
