Well coming close to the time when I need to chop my A4 in. Shopping around I have stumbled upon companies like Orange wheels that seem to offer cars with a lot bigger discounts than directly with main dealers. Apparently they are not imports or pre reg but pre negotiated deals. You still deal and buy from main dealer but introduced via them. Anyone had any experience or knowledge?

Thanks in Advance

Phil

I was looking at buying a new A5 and used CarWow. Similar to orange wheels except you get deals directly from the dealers. Even when my local dealership wasn't the cheapest, they were happy to match the cheapest quote I got and could order from them just as normal.

Highly recommended. Ended up getting about 19% off list price! Decided to keep my current motor though so didn't go ahead with the deal.

Hi Phil, I got quotes from both orange wheels and carwow and went with the latter as they got the best deal. In principle they are taking advantage of what is effectively 'group buy' in order to obtain the same discounted price that fleet buyers get. As DrE stated, once you agree an offer you then just make arrangements with the dealer as if you were any other buyer, but you haven't had to negotiate the discount yourself. I discussed the concept with my salesman and he said that in theory a buyer can end up having to talk to the fleet department at the dealer, and possibly get a 'reduced' service as a consequence. He said that his dealership do not do that, and from what I have read no-one has reported any issues. There are a few things you need to be aware of:
1) The best discount might come from a dealer quite a distance away from you.
2) The offer from the online broker is not contractual - you still need to make an agreement with the dealer so if there is a change - tough
3) Check the details carefully - sometimes the websites make pricing mistakes (see #2)
4) The discount is usually a composite of 'dealer contribution' and 'finance contribution'
5) It is possible to get the finance contribution and then withdraw from the agreement (right to cancel) and keep the discount

As well as orangewheels don't forget to check carwow, carfile & drivethedeal :thumbs up:

Once you've got your best price, off to your local Audi dealer to see what they can do

I got a quote from CarWow and then emailed local dealer who got close enough. My sister and a colleague have both bought cars through CarWow with no issues and great prices. HTH.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am certainly going to use them as a sourcing point and ammunition to negotiate with my local stealer, just wish I had looked at this process a few cars ago!! Hey ho. Once again thanks for all your words and will keep you posted with how it goes.

Am amazed. Actually looking at savings of approx 8/9K currently on current list prices with not looking too hard!

Aha... new model coming out early 2016 to replace what I was looking at hence the good deals!
