Hi Guys,

I'm currently looking to buy an a3, but i want sat nav and front and rear parking senors but i was wondering can i fit theses after i have brought the car will it come up on the screen like on this website below
Audi Parking system plus installed at the dealer... - AudiWorld Forums

I think its called audi parking system plus but not sure, also is te sat nav i have seen below the right one for the a3 and is it correct for the parking sensors.

RNS-E AUDI A3, S3 Navigation MEDIA CHROME. SATNAV, DVD 2012 MAP ... | eBay

but then could anyone help me with what else i need to get aka what parking sensors etc and can i just fit it all up or does it need activating on VCDS.

Hope you can clear this up for me.

Many thanks James

Hi James it is possible to retro fit and that's the rns-e you'll need also you'll need the fofollowing:
parking aid control unit (pr. code 7x2)
8x sensor holders
8x parking sensors (4h0919275a or 4h0919275agru)
2xbuzzers I forget the part number but can get it for you
4xplastic rivets
1xparking aid button
and wiring kufatec do the 4 looms you'll need if you don't fancy making your own

its easier to retrofit on a 2009 on a3 however not impossible to fit on an 8p1 or 8p2 as me and another member recently got together via email and carried out transatlantic dual retrofits at the same time which was very cool to say the least I'm working on a full guide to post. Also you'll need to code the rns-e to tell it optical park system is installed.
Also you might have to change the gateway depending again on age of the car there are many threads on this a user called nhn was the first I belive and has covered the coding etc hope this essay helps

Hi Troubs12,

Thanks for the quick reply, sounds pretty easy from ho you put i lol, i'm hoping to get a 10 plate a3 so that means it should make life more easier when getting the parking sensors etc. i have seen the webste Phil_w has given below with the full kit is that a good webste to buy from or is there anywhere local ish aka anywhere around cornwall/devon that does the kits and fits/coding etc as i lik to deal local if i can.

Many thank for the help guys

I think you'll struggle to find complete kits that fully integrate anywhere else as almost all people advertising retrofit kits will normally be a buzzer based system only with no connection to the on board systems. NHN will probably be along soon to say he doesn't like the kufatec wiring looms and :) and I've also often found that their info is misleading and sometimes inaccurate so looms can always be made from scratch which Nigel (NHN) generally does. In fact as I'm typing this, private messaging NHN is probably your best bet as he is down south and will do a better job than anyone on the high street out there anyway as his attention to detail is unparalleled! Just my 2c

Hi Ryan, yeh that does look the bees knees lol.

May I just ask anyone in general what sds and mfsw to do with the rns-e I think as Nhn but thought I would pop it on here cheers.

MFSW aka multifunction steering wheel allows control of music, volume, phone (if fitted) sds (speech dialogue system) which allows voice control of the nav for destinations, features of nav, phone for voice dialling, radio features.

Hi Nigel.

Sorry for a slow reply but that's cool sounds good. Can the sds already be on my rns-e in the car as ill check tomorrow. Cheers

Doubt you have full sds already, hardly any spec'd it.
