Hi!

I am searching for some good looking 17" wheels. What ET should I look for?

My car is lowered with Eibach Pro, should I also buy 10mm spacers for this setup to look good?

I know that 18" or 19" would look a lot better, but I use my car daily to my work I would like some comfort left.

Get 18s.... You wont loose any comfort if you fit a sensible sized tyre

17s look silly in the A3s arches

I have OEM 16" today (brand new 1.6 TDI Sport Back), everything will look better.... If I would consider 18s, what is a sensible sized tyre?

It depends on the width of the wheel. For 18x7.5 (common audi size) you would go for a 225/40/18 tyre or similar

Ok, thanks for the info. What ET should I look for on a 18x7.5 wheel, around 50?

Anything from 54-45 or so. most of the standard 18s are ET52-54. You can always add spacers if needs be

i have 19x8.5 et42 with 225/35/19 tyres which sit flush with the arch lowered on Eibach sportlines. the winters are my old 17x7.5 et54 and believe me they look ugly!
the 19s i have are not uncomfortable in any way just that its expensive on tyres and with the stretch there is no rim protection

for the best setup on 18s with the eibach pro you would want 18x8 et45 with 225/40/18 tyres... no rubbing issues at all and would still look good and be comfortable... you could even go for an 8.5 wide alloy but then you get some stretch so no rim protection

Would a 225x45r18 tire be preferable in a city with mediocre roads (for comfort)?
