Tyre change time!

Stick with PS2's IMHO - I tried PS3's on my edition 30 Golf and they were not as good in the dry as the PS2's I have on my S3.

I had continental contact sport 3's, loved every mile, last anywhere between 10-20k, I know that's a massive margin but depends if you drive hard everywhere, or just every now and then. I got about 15k out of the fronts and little more on the rear.

BF Goodrich g-forcer tyres!!!

Amazing amazing tyres!!!

What size tyre was this for and where did you have it done?

Same as yours mate, I had them done at my local tyre place in Birmingham.

Try Blackcircles.com, find the tyre and see if theres a local fitter to you and see if they can do it any cheaper for you :)

I stuck Avon ZZ3's 235 45 17 on.£100 a corner.

Beefed it up.looked great.

Hello A6CR,

Would you be able to give me some more information whether you're looking for sport/premium tyres? What kind of budget do you have in mind?

The Michelin PS2 is a very good tyre with excellent longevity and good wear. It's about average for breaking on wet ground but this is a point the PS3 has improved on so I would suggest a look at that one, heres a link to some stats and reviews of it:

On the other hand there are some very good ContiSportContact 5's available for around £100 which could prove to be a wise choice.

One more tyre, the goodyear Asymmetric 2 has proven itself in several tests this year as a force to be reckoned with:

Thanks guys - ideally need good wearing tyres as I'm doing 30-35k a year in the A3 and at around £100 a corner I don't wanna be replacing tyres every 15k lol.

Kwikfit have 25% off all tyres on atm so may look and see what Michelins I can get.

Will keep the thread updated.

When I was getting tyres last time I was told on a Michelin the sidewall would perish before I used all the tread - go for them. I got some primacy HP's on the old dears car as she does similar mileage to you. Still going strong over 10k later you can barely see any wear

I have Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 2's and conti's sport 2's on the back.. I use to have conti's on the front too, but they burned out too quickly and the grip wasn't brilliant either!

Anyway, say for instance I was going round a corner at abit of a rate - The Goodyear's would hang on but the conti's do let go!

Buy some Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 2's.. you won't go wrong!
