I’ve been a member on here for 14 months, tend to be a browser more than a poster, having gained a lot of useful info! I haven’t really posted any pictures of my car yet so thought I’d do a write up of what I’ve done up until now…

Picked the car up in Dec 2009 looking like this…

After browsing the forum and seeing this http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/new-a3-s3-sportback-8p-chassis/52430-ashtray-converted-into-itray.html I decided that the iTray was going to be the first mod I did.

Funnily enough, after seeing pictures of cars on here with a black optics grill I soon followed the trend, and added UK aluminium pressed plates and LED side lights to smarten it up a bit…

Then I managed to get sucked into a group buy and ended up with a Bluefin, thankfully I wasn’t disappointed! The new map made a big improvement and made the car feel much more lively.

Having wanted cruise control when I bought the car I finally got round to fitting it in spring 2010, just before my trip around Europe, a worthy investment it was too!

Then in the summer of 2010 I was introduced to Lamin-X, shortly after it appeared on my car…

Then I decided it was time to tidy up the rear end a bit, fitted an S-Line/S3 spoiler and a Polo 9N rear wiper arm and blade to give me this…

I was fed up of the cigarette lighter so swapped it for the 12v socket…

Then I decided it was time for my wheels to be refurbished, got them powder coated in gunmetal grey at the wheel specialist in Newport…

Swapped the rear audi badge for a black one…

Finally for my latest mods, I’ve fitted the Eibach Sportline springs I got off a member on here, V16, I’m happy with them, given me a much better ride height and a smoother ride in my opinion, so all in all worthwhile.

Last but not least, a comedy tax disk holder…

IMG_7917.jpg

Next to do is some spacers, let me know what you think…

not the biggest fan of the smoked alloys but otherwise i really love your car

LOL i got the same tax disc holder as you Tom. Haha got mine after a (HUGE) pothole swallowed my car up and bent a rear axle and buckled my RS6 alloy!
Car looks much better since you had it aswell. Any other plans? Thought about an s-line front bumper?

haha funnily enough Ash I got the tax disk holder after i knocked my tracking out on the grand canyon that appeared in the lanes by my house...
As for plans I'd like an S3 rear end and S-Line front but funds dont currently allow for that... i do have a set of spacers to go on though when i can be *****...

Looking good mate, would you believe me I've never seen the lighter socket done like that?lol Any links or part numbers you have on that would be a bonus

Smoothie, unfortunately I don't have a pt no as I got it off another member on here who wanted a cigarette lighter instead. Someone with ETKA should be able to sort you out with a pt no though. I think it was fitted to cars with the non smoker pack/spec.

Nice looking car, future plans sound good also. What is the ride like on the sportline springs?

To be honest, I'm happy with the ride, don't get me wrong they're not as good as a set of coilies but for the money I'm happy. The ride is marginally softer than the s-line springs yet with reduced body roll in the bends.

Getting eibachs fitted on mine next week and was worried how they would ride on the a3. Had them on a Leon Cupra and they rode very similar to oem but the car was much flatter round corners.
The tint on your headlights looks good. Not normally a fan but it looks nice and subtle.

Not feeling the colour on the wheels personally but apart from that I'm liking it, nice subtle touches. Very tempted to do the get rid of the cigarette lighter myself, also can't say I've seen the Ipod tray before but have thought about this a few times myself. You got a guide/link to guide for these 2 mods?

Thanks
Shane

Shane, unfortunately I do not have a pt no for the 12v socket, however someone with ETKA should be able to help you, I got mine off another member on here who was a smoker so needed the cigarette lighter...
As for the "itray" if you scan over the text above I put a hyperlink into the text for the thread relating to the mod.
Hope that helps!

Looks cracking mate, allthought again I'm not a fan of smoked alloys. Always like silver on silver! Good job with the subtle mods though, keep it up.

Loving the itray and I'm glad your happy with the springs, looks miles better.

Nice car that, big fan of he iPod dock, it's different!

Was it the Wheel Specialist in Cwmbran?

Thanks, it was a nightmare to try and get pics that give a true likeness of the colour in real life, the pics don't show the deep glossy shine they have, also the pics make them look darker than they actually are... On here they look almost anthracite when in real life they are probs what you got if you mixed the original colour with anthracite...

I'll bare that in mind, have you any close ups?

I do have some close ups but they don't really show the true colour or quality of finish, if you want to meet up and see them PM me...

really nice car mate!! & loving the tax disc holder!! need to get myself one of those!!

Nice and clean mate, like it.

Thought about black mirror covers??

TBH I'm not particularly a fan of mirrors being a different colour to the rest of the car, can't get my head around why you would want to...
Thanks for the comments though :)
