Will do, many thanks for your advice. Wasn't aware main dealers did a service kit. I was looking to do a full service including oil, oil filter, cabin filter, air filter, plugs. The fuel filter, coolant and brake fluid were done in the last service. I always inspect and grease hinges etc...

Thanks for your quick reply mate, much appreciated. The thing is if the car looked 'well used' i wouldn't think twice about self-servicing, but it really is in very good condition. Hardly a mark on it and impeccable service history do date. I'm happy doing it myself and i know it will be done...

Sorry guys if this has been asked before, i'm sure it has. My 2008 1.8T FSI Sport is due for a service and the bottom line is i'm thinking of doing it myself. I'm confident with tools and pretty sure i know how to service a car. At the moment it has 84K on the clock with main dealer stamps up...

Does anyone know where the air con condensate discharges on a 2008 1.8T FSI? I'm getting water dripping from the drivers side front of the wheel arch / behind the front valance when parked and i'm hoping it's just air con discharge. Doesn't smell of anything untoward and i don't seem to be...

Worth a go i guess for the sake of £60. As i say it cured my ESP warning (it just beeped and came on for a fraction of a second and went away, a common problem so i read at the time). Not sure about the TC light though. Hope you get it sorted!

I know it sounds really simple but with my previous 2007 TDI 170 i just replaced the battery and it went away permanently. I can't remember where i read this, i think it may have been on another forum. As the battery dies and loses it's charge it throws this fault up very briefly, don't ask me...

Thanks mate, thought it wouldn't be the case. Diagnostic at local indy says early signs of servo failing. Quoted £500 which to be fair doesn't seem too bad given what the S3 owners have been experiencing.

My 2008 A3 1.8T FSI 160 has started developed a hissing noise from the footwell when engine running and not braking (i.e. goes away when you depress the brake pedal). Brakes still feel ok. Sometimes very slightly lumpy on idle but generally it's smooth. Tried to get as much info from the forum...
