I've not checked the fuses properly get but everything in the car works as it should, interior lights, central locking etc...
Yes. Identical unit. I might cut this one open as well just to rule it out.
My alarm hasn't been working for a while so picked up a second hand unit after cutting my old one up to find it corroded.
Pugged the replacement one in and its still not working.
Two fault codes for it and no power going to the connector from what i can make out with my tester.
Any ideas...
Somehow my viscous fan has been totalled, about 2/3 of the blades have been smashed off, resulting in putting a hole in my rad. Gutted.
For a fix to get me back on the road i've left the viscous fan on, albeit in a state, and chucked some rad weld in to stop the leak. All seems fine now.

Ok checked the plenums again, both blocked but not much water there, probably about a pint of water. How much before it gets into the car?
Nothing in the boot or under the drivers side carpet.
Im just thinking its the windows that need a ****** good cleaning.
Bringing this back from the dead.
Had the carpets up on the passenger side. Bone dry.
Checked the HVAC flaps in operation, no issues.
Pulled the HVAC pipe and checked, not blocked.
Plenum drains not blocked.
Next up is to check round the rear lights again and check the drivers side carpets...
Dont look at the gauge. Its only an indicator. You need to log the actual temp on vag com or similar.
Youll find the temp can be about 70-80 degrees actual and look like 90 on the gauge.
Do the temp sensor and thermostat at the same time to be sure.
Its only a breather/non return valve if you're gettin pressure in it then you have an issue.
The PCV valve under the inlet manifold on a 1.8t is one of the most common points of a boost leak.
As the part number thread is locked down I thought it might be handy to have an open topic about part number that people can post up part numbers of things they've bought or ask for part numbers so this can then be added to the sticky.
I'll start with a request. lol.
Black door handle insert...
If you do get a HID kit, just make sure its a decent one. These light systems on A4's are fussy buggers. Ive tried to sets of old style jobbies and they both cause issues (flickering, switching off etc...)
Without hijacking, would be good to see what kits people reccomend as im going to get...
