There is a very popular mod on another forum (vortex) which is the Cupra lip, here I leave some pictures, I think it looks good. Anyone has tried this on an S3??

Thanks!

They are a good mod and look well on most cars - I didnt think it would look good but infact I think it looks sweet!

I like it. Probably looks best on white or silver cars tbh as (imo) you need the contrast. If I was to stick one on my car it would hardly show.

Yeh did one of these mods on my old 8L S3 and looked good, didn't think of doing it to my current one but looks good!

Might be a project for when the new one arrives.....

Im fitting mine tomorrow all being well, not sure how nicely it will fit in with the 8P S3 front bumper but its not expensive so thought I would give it a try..

Ill post pics up as soon as I have it on there

How easy are these to fit?? i wouldnt fancy having to drill any holes and risk damaging the bumper.

looks really good, thought about it but as mine is black i don't think you can notice it on the car.

No good if your cars lowered , it'll catch on the kerb and on speed bumps.

Would be interesting to see one on a S3 - and to now how many holes would need to drill !
Amazed if they are only £20 from a seat dealer !

You can get lots of parts destined for VAG cars cheap from Seat Stealers. Generally part numbers are the same, just preceeded by an A, S or V. Not sure what the prefix for Skoda is.

Example - headlight switch for Seat Ibiza 1994 - £65
Same headlight switch for an Audi A6 1992 - £112

Had to replace this a few years back and the garage which was doing the work gave me the option. I couldn't tell the difference!

Todays stupid question :uhm:
would one of these fit on my TDI Sport or just s-line, s3's (different spoilers)?

The splitter is only £16 or so from SEAT so worth trying out

They should fit to any car, they all have a flat bottom to the front bumper/spoiler/splitter.

Just noticed the S3 has 3 bars in the lower part of the bumper, and the lip has only 2.....

If anyone is thinking about doing this mod, please post pics!!

Hey

Got the splitter this morning and have spent an hour on it getting it to bend it the correct way to follow the curvature of the S3 front bumper..

All I need to do now is fit it to the bumper, think ill remove the bumper to do this so I can get it spot on..

Still not convinced its going to sit perfectly with the shape of the front bumper, but ill give it a try, if it looks pants then ill take it off but on the test fit it looks good..

Jonny

You can try double side tape for a good test fit....to avoid drilling!

I tried it but the splitter does not want to sit where it needs to be on the bumper..

Ill try and get some really strong double sided or even get a couple of us to hold it and get a pic posted up

Jonny

I thought about 3M double side tape, the same used by body shops to attach side mouldings....

I dont want to drill :( :(

Out of interest, any fitting guides on this, I looked on Vortex as suggested but couldnt see anything,

Heres a picture of the test fit.. sorry about the dirty car :(

Unfortunately masking tape was the only thing that would hold it on in place enough to get a reasonable idea..

If I were fixing it on properly then it would be possible to get it following the shape of the bumper fairly well but im not really sure on how good it looks, its just got nothing in common with the S3 front bumper

Think I may give it a miss..

What do you all think?

Jonny

Looks ok but kind of takes away the silver splitter already there as standard which looks alot nicer.

looks cheap and tacky if you ask me, doesnt go well with the grey/silver fins at all. I would leave it off as a stock S3 looks amazing as it is.

Pretty much what I thought lol..

Worth a try though! :D

May look nicer if the silver bit was painted black to match, especially as you've got the optics grille. Or do the whole lot white but it would be a ****** to stop it getting chipped.

I was looking at getting the dark silver part of the front bumper sprayed in satin black anyways but I havent got around to it yet..

Ill see, if I can make it look like it was supposed to be there then I may put it on

Yeah now I've had a good look I think is suits the s-line better.

IMO AUDI got the S3 front end spot on. No need to fiddle if you ask me.
Respect for having a go though.

cheers
