The good news you do not need to programme them, just fit and go.

Do you know What was the Part Number in the Module you needed and the Part Number of in your old one and or difference?
 
The modules need to be rev "E" or later for both sides.

I have managed to source the drivers console already with the switch from ebay. Rob told me that the folding mirrors , I dont need to find black ones to match my car as the covers can be swapped so if I just find any colour that should do .

Hi, Yes you can swap your mirror covers to the folding units, dont need to worry about the covers, you just need the folding ones.
I will try to find the part numbers, yes you need both sides.

unless you really want to get into this mod, which may cost a fair bit, i'd use the funds for other projects, just my input.

Also be careful when looking at folding mirrors, I have seen some listed on Ebay as folding but are not,
The wiring on folding mirrors has about 8 wires, you tell tell as there is pink wire in the loom,
Non folding loom has about 4 wires.

your ebay search seems to be better than mine LOl. I just cant find those ****** £160 pair ...I have taken note of the cables.

hard to say Richard, i zoomed in but its not conclusive, looks more like 4 than 8 , id be asking the seller for a better pic and to count the wires.

Hi guys, have emailed the seller to ask them to count the wires :) I am sure they will love that request but being Geordies I am sure they will be accommodating ! Next task is to find those modules. I think I have found them but may pass some photos or links your way just to double check if I may.

I have taken your advice and think you are right. Therefore I will shelve this mad idea and concentrate on other ones that are more within my comfort zone and budget :)

So the original wish list has now been pared back somewhat. I think Rob is actually my wife in disguise and pouring cold water on my ideas :)
Led rear light cluster
B6 folding cigarette lighter
Heated fan washer jets
Managed to find the shims and washer jets at last so this might work
S4 brakes
This is now classed as a 'maybe' and perhaps next year
Electric folding mirrors
Getting there , just need the door modules and confirmation on the mirrors being actual power fold
Folding rear seats
 
*update. Power folding mirrors confirmed as the correct wiring. Just need some help on these modules. Searches through up quite a few with motors ( which assume I dont need )
 
It’s very , very easy to get into big outlays on these cars in a very short space of time.
I tend to think about projects for way too long now before opening the wallet, impulse purchases can be costly .

True. Must exert more self control. To be honest the majority of my list that I started a month ago has been completed and largely it was corrective/maintenance stuff like Cam follower, painting calipers, sorting out the wheels etc. The biggest outlay so far has been the headlight upgrade which is still ongoing but that was just me being an upgrade tart. I was the same with my other cars, especially the Impreza as that is just a rabbit hole of upgrades :) But thank you for your measured advice, much appreciated.
 
audi upgrades
S4 brakes are bolt on

the 320mm caliper will work but the S4 caliper is slightly larger i believe personally i would just source a used set from a S4 and purchase a set of disc and pads and some HEL braided hoses.

Why dont you ask the place your buying the mirrors from, if they have them do a deal.

What do you mean you dont need motors? They all come with motors attached.

You are correct and I am a numpty :) When I did a search a while back I saw some modules that just looked like plastic boxes but then realised that of course you will need a motor as what will drive the action. LOL
So if I post up some links from ebay using those codes can you quickly confirm that it is right and I will order them ?

These are not the correct part number, I did give you the part numbers, if you look on the label it reads, RLMin, the correct ones will say MAX.
as I said, speak to the place you bought the mirrors, they might still have the modules in the doors.

But I took the exact part numbers you gave me and googled/ebay that number and those are what came up. I will keep looking , grr this is frustrating
and yes I did ask the guys at the breakers, they couldnt answer the question
 
So they have no modules in the doors then?
I can find 1 on Ebay, but cant find the other side, try searching Seat Exeo front door modules, or front window motors.

Thanks mate, do appreciate your help on this . I did eventually , as you saw, track down the right modules but a mission in itself. I shall just have to be patinet on the actual fit as one of them will ariive monday and the other one not until end of the month !!! just couldnt find one that was in the UK.
 
Yes, they are very hard to find now as most have either been used for the mod or scrapped with the car.
Di you no how to fit everything when you get all the parts?
