Exhaust

Yup biggest restriction on sound, yet people are getting giddy about 3-5K rear sections that make it sound like a Daza 8V not a chance…….. .

Same people that think swapping it out gives the car its pops and bangs etc back. Lol.

Depends…….. Not everyone is going to want to drop 3k upwards on a used rear exhaust

I’ve got the MPE on my M4. Got offers of £2.5k when I sell. RRP £5k.

Pretty sure the Akra will hold some money, too much for me though. Guy I work with in Germany has just dropped best part of 9k euros (I think) on an Akra for his C7 RS6

Yeah maybe…… however most of your average RS3 owners would want a 5K Akra for 1k lol.

Saw the Clubsport 45 today with the Akrapovic....now that exhaust looked classy and expensive so did the car inside and out

I’ve spoken with Infinit and they say the delete device will also work for the CAT sensor which is great news but yeah not an option to buy it separately thou if it works for the CAT sensor I might as well just remove everything and put a downpipe lol
Thou Idk them at all and they say pre orders are in a week or so with availability in 2-4 weeks after that

I’m in:

I think it’s really hard to tell if it’s any good from YouTube without a direct side by side comparison, particularly when when the mic/camera is so close up to the exhaust.

True..... it's like the remaps, show you a dyno plot promising a power output yet no baseline of the stock car, same here really, no standard car sound vs that......

It's a shame that the remap/go faster parts market is like that, it's 10 times worse with Motorcycles as they tend only to use rear wheel hp....mind you saying that I have sat on the boot ledge on the over run to inflate figures :tearsofjoy:

Once saw the *&* air filter development man trying all sorts with maybe a Citreon Saxo on the dyno next to our (at the time) workshop, once he got a single run with an increase he was happy to sell his airfilter/cold ai box arrangement as he had the 'proof' that it worked on that day, swapping back to std to prove it never came into the equation, just happy to sell any c*ap on

Remus has just released their GPF back exhaust, it’s priced at 4300€ for the EC approved and ~170€ less for the non EC approved exhaust.
With such small mufflers I’d imagine that the sound would be better but that only proved our previous observations that the GPF itself is the biggest problem and a muffler won’t bring much change unfortunately.

Plus Infinit Performance have just released their GPF&CAT delete simulator which is sold with a catless dp without GPFs for 2000£, I’m not UK biased and it’s my first VAG car so I don’t really know them and from a few old threads I’ve seen people don’t really recommend them for some reason, do you think they are credible by any means or should I wait for more reputable company to release such device ?

Very interesting watch in general but some chatter on here about them. No shade thrown but morale of the story, if you go to one place in the UK with your RS3 it’s MRC

When you watch R44 plastering the wheel hub/wheel/spacer mounting flange with copper slip thats another one off the list, that is just basics, the purpose of the wheel bolt is to hold the wheel tight to the wheel hub and the friction stops the wheel from moving.............

Anyone heard of anything new ? Anything on a OPF/GPF delete device ? I’m dying to make this car sound properly!
I guess if no one came out with one yet and only that one shop in the UK did which you all didn’t recommend it’s safe to assume you were right about them

They've been around for a fair while now. I'd like to know how they'd deal with a Hurrican STO stock exhaust or something similar that's far louder than the 74dB in the article though. I imagine there would be a good number of cars getting fines with no modifications to exhausts at all.

Agreed, there was a similar article i posted learner this year about it......

Worst you can do by removing the OPF's is make it sound like a pre OPF car, what are they gonna do ? start fining cars by the db level they left the factory with, can't see how they'd make that stick based upon all the variables involved with an exhaust system.

We're alright then :tearsofjoy:

Insane, but that's where we're heading. Enjoy life while you can folks, we're only the next social media faux pas away from people being offended about people not being offended enough.

''Lets just suck the life out of anything that a minority enjoy''

I wonder how they will deal with something like a single cylinder Vintage motorcycle?

On a similar note there is a 50mph limit close to us on the Wrexham by pass, the signs say ''To reduce exhaust emissions'' and ''Poluted air kills'' so, who will be the first to fly through at 70 in an EV and challenge it ?

Here's the future, this one needs a little more wheel to wheel arch clearance to complete the look.........

Silencer and valves look an awfull set up to me, i'm guessing the valve operation is still the same as stock?

If only this was all we had to contend with.

Just while I’m waiting for my ASR exhaust module to arrive on Monday, maybe those that have them already fitted could answer for me?

If I stick the sound into ‘pronounced’ in RS Individual, will that open the valves full once the unit is active?

Any dynamic / individual / performance / or ‘S’ on the nugget will open them fully.

I want to get it but I’ve heard mixed reviews of Infinit so I’m not sure I want to part with that much cash without some first hand experience.

I agree and imagine that with the RS exhaust system it would likely be just the right amount of sound. Maybe need a sports cat to bring the volume down a little bit though.

From the comments and reviews on Facebook it doesn't put the car into limp mode but you do get lights on the dash that need to be cleared every so often.

One guy I spoke to hadn't even received the emulator yet and keeps being fobed off

I was telling this story to my lad when he asked what tuning options were out there.
He wondered if Audi had some kind of a rolling algorithim code or if the ecu was being altered over the connect services in an attempt to defeat any 'emulator' type boxes ?
