Posting this here for anyone who is looking to do this upgrade - it's an excellent, cost effective option. Video is on a TT Mk2 but it applies for anything else in the PQ35 (8P, Golf mk5, mk6, Passat and Jetta) family.

All parts can easily be locally sourced, so it won't break the bank, and also using some OEM Audi parts. Rotors are a custom setup.

This will be a direct upgrade for 8P owners with steel knuckles/spindles/uprights (and whatever else you want to call them) - the main thing you want here is a thin brake caliper mount. The TT's upright's brake caliper mount are 15mm thick. So you can upgrade to those if you wanna keep allow hubs. Anything thicker and you will need to change them (i.e. the Passat alloy hubs are 33mm thick).

All the same ideas apply for the 18z's but you just need a bigger rotor and make sure to order the correct pads.

In some other interesting news - i found out through one of my youtube videos that there are also 19z's available.

Piston sizes as follows

19Z piston size are 32/36/38mm = 2956mm²
18z piston size are 30/34/38mm = 2750mm²
17z piston size are 34/36/38mm = 3060mm²

19z look like they accept a bracket on the hub which help them run very large rotors.

Hello everyone, I apologise for asking here but I can’t find any suitable info. I will be running Touareg 2010 v6 brembo calipers paired with Mercedes 330mm rotors bolted on 2010 Audi A3 8p 2.0tdi fwd, my question is what wheels will clear the calipers without spacers, I can run max 18 inch wheels. Currently on my car I have oem speedline splits 18x7.5 et 54.

I’m sorry but I’m not sure what wheels will clear the calipers without spacers. It might be best to contact the manufacturer or take it to a technician who can diagnose the issue and provide a solution or creat your own post to have more suggestions.

You'll need something that has ET40 or lower to have clearance.
