Next model A3

You don’t want a white A45s mate .... noooo .... horrible tablet screens / no Lambo vents etc ... don’t do it :)
Lol. As long as you enjoy it, that’s the main thing. I was looking at the “Car” website last night and was reading the write up on the new CLA 45S. I must say it is starting to grow on me and white does look sharp in it. But I’ve yet to get an RS3, and I really want to enjoy a 5 pot engine when I can, so this will be what I will explore/exhaust first.

I do like the CLA, it is a lovely looking thing. I like the Hatch just as much though and it is a bit more practical but I would have definitely considered a CLA if one was avaialble.

I priced up a Vorsprung model this morning - Only added Metallic Paint £39,500 approx. - ouch

Love them Y arm alloys they'll do me nicely...didnt see the option for a flat bottom steering wheel on the Vorsprung model .....Vorsprung and the Edition 1 models look the dogs danglies an expensive car indeed for 150 bhp derv Vorsprung edition £41k

Vorsprung Edition S3 £50k easily

I couldn't find the flat bottom wheel either - standard on Edition1 and an option on a s-line but not on the Vorsprung - S3 should get it anyway

Surely it should be RS3 or A45S as likely similar price range as opposed “only” S3

Go on then add the Rs3 to the list  2 litre cars are what I normally go for tho to be honest .

No way will the next RS3 be £10k more than the outgoing car £56k? the A45s will be the most expensive hatchback in existence for awhile stupid money for any hatchback

Fantastic value for money the A45s and so will the RS3 :icon thumright:
My RS3 retained 65% of its value after 4 years so you must factor in that too.
S and RS cars tend to offer very good retained value if you buy them right, spec them right and hold onto them long enough

Most folks who rent RS3s tend not to keep them more than 18 months a well specced one £52k new
but at £60k that's well into another class of car
You'll not see many A45s on the roads.....rare as hens teeth the last A45s didnt sell well either

The private dealer who bought my RS3 has already said he wants my A45 when I sell it.

He’d just sold an A45s to a guy who ordered one 7 months ago and also traded in an RS3 by coincidence. He said he was very impressed with the Merc.

I can’t say I’m aware of the last A45 not selling well ... Mr Jassy is that you being anecdotal again by chance lol :tearsofjoy:
But I hope they are rare ... rarer the better IMO & more exclusive than :icon thumright:

Plus the new RS3 will be well over £52k for a well specced one. It will be interesting to see what a new well specced S3 costs.

I think it helped I kept it 4 years & it was a nice spec ... but yeah I was chuffed with that.

Yeah but not everyone wants a porker ... & they ain’t that cheap ... and everything is extra !

I’d sooner have an Audi or Merc tbh.

4 or 5 door usable everyday car & cheap to run & service considering the performance.

65% after fours years is highly impressive! If our S3 retains 50% after four years, I’ll be pleased.

£41k for 150bhp hatchback, that is absolutely bonkers money. Nobody would pay that surely?

Well spec’d S3 £50k and RS3 £60k I’m guessing, Audi really are taking the Michael there.

Yeah. An S3 will start at £40k+. So a well specced Vorsprung model will be £50k. A Q3-RS Vosprung is about £8k more than entry level spec.

Audi have a habit of adding £10k to their RS cars.

B5 RS4 was about £40k
B7 RS4 was about £50k
B8 RS4 was about £60k
All new RS4 is about £70k

And with PCP, sticker prices can be added to at will. Next RS3 will easily start off around £50k. Vosprung version will be nudging £60k

What does Vorsprung get you as extras.
Is it worth ~£10k more?

I've only specced the Q3-RS up, but it certainly gets you more kit, and it looks much better. Is it worth it? Hard to say, and some kit you maybe would have ticked as an option, but you also get kit you don't want.

And then come trade-in, you'll get the sucking through the teeth from you local friendly `best mate` Audi salesman, telling you that anything less than Vosprung editions are hard to sell on, while getting the lube out.

Totally agree with both your comments, but this seems to be in line with the direct competitors unfortunately. Also consider that we will get a rise in taxation within the next 12-18 months to pay for what is currently going on....put a few extra grand onto that price :sob:

Hmm I think there is some element of truth in this though. My Q2 is holding it’s value very well and the only real reason for that is that it’s an Edition #1 model.

Anyway, asking price isn’t what most people will be affected by, it will mostly be monthly instalments that people care about. If the instalments change then ok I get it, but the likely story will be that monthlies will have a small rise and the balloon payment will be higher, thus making you almost have to get in to another PCP.

Still think the price is cheap for UK. Model range starts at 35,000chf here in Switzerland. Edition 1 35 TFSI Stronic starts at 53,000chf! That’s £45k with no extras.
