First off, I want to thank you all in advance. you guys are my only hope on fixing this issue without spending a fortune.
After 2 years of owning a premium Audi a3, I grew tired of the basic looking pop-up display that has worse graphics than the Nintendo game boy. I decided to purchase the 7-inch display and upgrade the head unit. turns out the head unit is from a relatively new Audi s3. It looks so beautiful and crisp, gone are the days where I feel like I'm playing a 1998 version of pokemon. One problem though, I can only control the volume when I'm on a Bluetooth phone call, other than that the volume is grayed out and there's no sound coming in at all. I removed the white cable and reinstalled it and the audio worked for a split second before disconnecting again. If I have to go back to the old MMI, im not going to cry about it I may swell go back, however, i feel like there should be something i could do about it. I was thinking its an amplifier issue but the vendor said it was not pulled from a B&O soundsystem car. It doesn't have navigation so im guessing it probably didn't have B&O.
If theres any way you could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, how can i figure out whether or not this is MIB 1 or MIB2? I honestly dont care which one it is as long as it supports apple carplay. If it does support it im going to purchase the AMI cable with usb.
If it needs coding im happy to pay in advance for help.

- audio-only works when I'm on Bluetooth call
- audio worked for radio for a split second when the white cable was removed, reattached and the vehicle was turned back on.
- radio volume won't move and is grayed out.
