Today I broke my nearside door mirror glass.....not a happy bunny frankly.

Looking for a recommended source of replacement ones if anyone knows of such a thing....

Fleabay? Might be cheaper to buy a complete door mirror assembly? I recently got one for for my B6 - £25 delivered.....

Today I decided to change my alloys again.....looking at some oem a6 ones for a change.....nothing solid yet though...me and wheels..lol

Rob, I’m selling a set of A6 c7 LeMan 19” alloys (were an optional extra from the factory) with Pirelli P-Zero tyres (5-6mm) if interested. They are in the for sale section and on eBay.

Decided to waste some money on a cold air intake... It looks nice and sounds good, doubt it’s added any power though.
The filter and housing were the easiest thing in the world to fit, the carbon lid / air scoop was a complete pain in the backside. I probably should’ve spent the money upgrading my stopping power... that’s the next item on the list.

Will be listing my 034 intake pipe shortly as it’s no longer needed.

looks super swanky rob:icon thumright:......easy 40bhp increase now...so you'll be on 500bhp now then:haha:

Not quite up to the same level as you lot... but a replacement rear wiper motor arrived today so once the kids are tucked safely out of sight I'll be attempting to fix the partial erection problem I've had for the last few weeks... sigh

I know the feeling... had the same problem twice in two years, I ended up getting rid of the rear wiper all together. I don’t miss it!

Today , nothing to the old bus but have stumbled on another B7 bus , off for a test drive tommorow.

Yesterday I had the oil pump balance shaft replaced with an updated replacement. I now have no money for anything lol.

I was relieved to see signs of wear on the old one and the hex wobbled like jelly in the gear housing so it would have failed at some point. A lot of dollar to splash but still well less than half the price of repairing if it had failed.

Cambelt change in a weeks time then it’s all sorted for the next 120,000 miles of its life!

It is nice, better still if I could get a test drive.....plonkers at the garage said the " adverse weather" conditions meant I couldn't take it out for test drive,
sounded a bit fishy as they had no snow.....anyway kinda put me off a bit so will see what happens really, a tad issed off with them to be honest.

Exactly what I said to them, but they were adamant it could not be taken out.

Wouldn't be too hung up on it if they're saying that, probably held together with cable ties.

Nothing at all, really love the old bus but still have this hankering for another B7 avant , something with a few more cylinders and BHP..:racer: :icon thumright:.
Have a few pounds to spend now so back on the hunt for something to keep the special ed company..

Got the block back a few weeks ago. I was sent some wrong parts so I had to reorder some stuff hence the wait. JE pistons install with Rods and ARP hardware. Installed the new water pump, new rear main seal, and new front seal. Gonna try to pick up a new thermostat and tensioner and probably take some time off work so I can finish everything up.

Ordered some IE titanium valve springs and retainers so I can run the RPMs a little. Not gonna do the valves right now. Requires a lot of head work that I don’t want to spend the money on. I’ve taken time off of work a week from now and hopefully can get it all done.

Is this a donor engine Edgar or your original...

The block is a spare one I bought. Everything else, including the head will be swapped over. I’m still driving the car currently but it will go under the knife in about a week. Hopefully I don’t break it.

Its a long time since I completely rebuilt an engine but it is a satisfying process working with all the clean & new parts. Always a bit daunting at first fire up time, but well worth it! Good luck with it bud. :icon thumright:

Nothing today as had a surprise family visit, but tomorrow all the interior stainless trim tops get outlined with beautiful deep red glowing EL wire like the new Audis have. It'll only come on when the lights are on tho which is a PITA to cable up because of the CANBUS system...but it'll all blend nicely with the current red lighting scheme!

Nearly all the other sections have one of these threads and I can't find one on our section so thought I'd start us off.

Over the last few days I've done

New gear knob
New dv
New pcv valve
New pcv gasket
New n80
Cleaned TB and new gasket
New rear brakes
Painted all brake calipers and dust guards.
New pollen filter.

Hi all,

Bit off topic but not worth a separate thread:

Anyone know if the PCD between the A4 and A6 is different? Spec sheets both show 5x112 however someone has messaged me about my A6 wheels stating it’s slightly different?

I would just wack one on my A4 to confirm however still need to get a new locking wheel nut key -.-
