Important information in the direct field of view of the driver.

The Audi Genuine Accessory head-up display is a clever retrofit item that provides the driver with improved display of information. The multicolour and high-contrast head-up display provides important driver information on a transparent OLED display in the direct field of view of the driver. Highly visible for the driver. When desired, the speed and other driver relevant information from optionally available equipments such as assist systems and navigation as well as warning information, can be displayed.

Installation only in combination with vehicle specific installation package for the Audi A1 (8X) with part number 8X0063761, for Audi A3 (8V) with part number 8V0063761, for Audi A4 (8K) with part number 8K0063761 or fr Audi A6 (4G) with part number 4G0063761. Not suitable for models with a leather covered instrument panel as a secure hold of the head-up display on leather is not assured. We recommend that installation is carried out by a specialist workshop. The use of the head-up display when wearing polarised sun glasses is limited.

Yeah, just a translucent screen that sits on the dash

Or the bog standard pop up thingy in my A3 for that matter.

Chocolate teapot anyone?

I'd be very interested to see the install documents I wonder how it gets its data for speed nav etc. The car must either broadcast it over wifi or BT or it has to be connected to the CANBUS ...... If that kinda of data is easily accessible it opens up all kinds of mods.....

Anybody have any idea of how you actually mount and connect it to the car?

The eBay listing suggest you also need a wiring kit, the same as the UTR does..

This thing is ugly as hell... Not worth buying at all. My HUD from China looks even better and costs like 5x less, than this "genuine" ******* :D
I was hoping till the end, that it is an OEM solution, and it will look and fit somehow nicely... But this...this thing.... *facepalm*

Agree, it's not even moulded to the shape of the dash. Looks like they have bought a cheap Chinese one and slapped the 4 rings on it.

Indeed still interested to find out how it works ....

I suppose it works fine with stock mib2 unit since it is an audi device. According to photos it should display navigation info, speed info, speed limit + cruise control speed.

It connects with this ugly wire and goes under the dash. Under the dash it goes to it's own unit, which should be connected to canbus(?) probably. Not sure about that, I'm just guessing according to this image .

Unless I'm very much mistaken, that's Olivier Giroud reflected in the windscreen. With the amount of money he earns at Chelsea you'd have thought he could afford a proper one without a crummy wire across the dashboard.
