Long delays for new orders due to WLTP emissions testing

Sometimes when I go onto the website to track my order I get a page that just asks for my order number. When I input it the page says”sorry service temporarily unavailable “. Other times A different page appears as above for Davew. Anybody know why?
I have a big exam on Tuesday and this is doing my head in.

Yep, same here. Sometimes I end up going to the Audi website, clicking 'go to previous website' which pops up bottom right (as it sends you to a beta website) and then top right login button to enter email and password to get to the dashboard.

Hi, I’ve been watching this thread for a while and decided to share my experiences. I ordered an A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI 190PS S-tronic S-line at the end of June. I was mostly oblivious to all the WLTP shenanigans although the dealer mentioned that there might be some kind of delay. From then to now I’ve had periodic updates from the dealer, who thought the car might arrive in September, then October, then November.

Today I heard from him that the order had finally been accepted. Now the tracker on audi.co.uk shows a build date of mid-February! So unless the date moves forward, as some people have reported, I reckon the car probably won’t arrive until the end of March, about 9 months after I ordered it. It’s funny to think that back in June I was wavering about whether to buy new because I might have to wait 6 weeks...

Teamonsta, was it your dealer or the website/tracker that notified you of the update?
Hi , in my experience the web site tracker was showing me a confirmed date before the dealer could. The dealer always said it was estimated, and when the web site tracker was off line for a while for my log in and order number, but when it came back on line the date was there. Hope this helps? The dealer then confirmed a few days after this .

Hi everyone, I have been following this thread for several weeks now as I get more information from this forum than I do from the dealer ship!

As some of you are getting build dates assigned now, I was wondering if any one has received build dates for the 3.0 TDI 286PS Tiptroinic as I've only seen mention of the 2.0 TFSI and 2.0TDI?

Yep - same here. Called dealer again today to be told no news. I need to stop checking the tracker every day as its just winding me up more and more nowadays.

My order on the 3rd May. 1.9 TDI 190 S-Line, S-Tronic

Just called the dealer who said my car has been assigned a build week and is likely to be built by the end of the month with delivery in first half of November. I registered a while back to track my order - however I still get the message -

Sorry, order not found

We can't seem to find an order match on our systems.
Please check the order number entered

Somewhat strange as I have validated the order number is correct.

I am using this link - https://www.audi.co.uk/account/dashboard#/ - and logged in.

Wondering if this is because the order is not in my name (company car)...

So I ordered mine at beginning of June and have a date of 18th February so also expect delivery in March, as per attached. To me it looks like they’ve blanket dropped all orders and allocated an approximate date, so it may be the case this moves forward however I’ve asked the dealer to call me (3 days ago) to discuss my options. There are so many lease cars around now at great prices and in stock I may just cancel my order or buy a car with a shorter timeframe than the a4

Gosh, that's crazy. I had to wait 2 months for mine, from order to receipt and that was way too long.

Hi Nick, my car on order is a company car, via LEX, and I can see the car status when using the 8 digit order number from the dealer.

Logged onto the portal and something has happened......

....... my password had expired in line with their 180 day policy. Once I reset it, I was presented with the usual screen.

Next Tuesday it'll be exactly 6 months since I ordered...

You might need the company's postcode of whom you've order the car through?
As I've stated before, many answers to order queries can be answered here https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/youraudi-track-new-car-order.254578/

So today my wife and I have been looking at and test driving cars. Some great deals out there but it still only seems to be the Germans that are delayed; Volvo can have a car end of November for me (excluding xc40), Jaguar can have a car to me in two weeks as they have plenty of stock and if not they’d have one by end of year.

For the record, for anyone interested, Jag have a great offer on what they call the XF Sportbrake R Sport Black Edition. Currently 0% finance and around £5k off plus a £2,500 fda makes a £41k car around £350 a month with £5k down!

.... By the way I also just noticed that it was yourself that actually started this thread back in June
Yes. Not much information back then. I'd called the dealer about two weeks after placing the original order to change from a manual to S-tronic. That's when I was told about the WLTP delay and thought I might get a bit more clarification on the forum. 19 pages and over 730 replies later, it looks like one or two of us are in the same boat! And the forum's certainly been the best source of information.

Hi all,

Been in to see my dealer yesterday, they mentioned that the price promise is only for what the car is being sold at, not what the monthly payments would be. Does this sound about right? If so, we could be in a position where we finally get the car only for the monthly payments to have gone up. Worth mentioning I am on about PCP.

I’ve also been told that I can’t change the order at all, wanted to change between the two reds but I believe others have said that they have been able to make changes.

For reference I order a s-line 218ps A4 avant in matador red on the 11th of march and the online tracker is still saying welcome to blah blah blah...dealer said last he heard from Audi uk was build week 50 and then he expects 12 weeks. So could be an entire year between ordering and delivery. Madness.

It genuinely annoys me at this point that no delays were even hinted at while my dealership tried to get me to sign. I ordered way after some of you had been told about the new emissions testing.

I’m sure at this point my dealership would be happy if I cancel just so they don’t have the headache. I asked if my car can have it’s badges removed (no cost option) that can be done at the dealership during PDI (Mercedes happily did this for our E Class last September), only to be told it would mean recalculating my payments and a fresh order.

Audi are an absolute joke.

I was allowed to add some extra options to my order (comfort & Sound pack, matrix headlamps and extended interior lighting) without a problem, two months after placing my order.

I was told by the dealer that orders can be changed up to the point of having a build week assigned.

Yeah, exactly. Just doesn’t make sense. Also really stupid considering we both ordered at Preston Audi, right?

Hi guys,

I ordered an A4 1.4 saloon black edition manual around end of April on a PCH deal. Ive been told by Audi customer services that this spec is due to start production in mid Feb! Assuming my order was at the start of production I should be looking at March delivery at the earliest. Shocking!!

So far this is my first Audi and its been a cluster f**k. Audi customer services couldn’t give a hoot and I get the feeling the dealership would be happy if I cancelled to save them the headache.

I reckon VAG have been caught short on this...shady bunch in my opinion. Can’t really say its a brand I trust anymore.

If my deal wasn’t so outrageous I would have jumped ship before now. Still looking at other deals though.

My first Audi as well. Was really looking forward to it, now less so. I really hope it doesn’t drag on into the new year. Got to return the current car in March.

Yes that's right, you'd think we'd have the same treatment/info. I'd get onto Dean, the sales manager.

Yeah, spoke to him a few weeks ago. Was my first chat with him so overlooked things like that. Think I’ll get in touch today and see what is going on. As you are right: they should be more aligned.

If you are waiting on the same spec as me you won’t see your car before March.

We had a car due back in September when the new A4 was due, we have an extension till March also.

The lack of acknowledgement from Audi plus the lack of compensation is shocking. I will be getting a higher spec car so I should be happy....

I’m hoping they’ve said this just to cover their *****, hopefully be way sooner than that. I’ve got the same spec except mines S-Tronic with the tech pack. Not good from Audi either way, shocking service from the start.

Your spec is different from mine with the auto and I believe they are making the autos before they move on to the manuals. Even if your auto comes a month before mine e.g Jan/Feb no one will take delivery till the new plate in March. If you’ve waited nearly 1 year for a car what difference will another month make.

The whole situation is disgraceful. If it was a genuine reason for a delay then fair enough but it appears these new tests have really caught VAG with their pants down

Even if they are making the autos first, I reckon I am at the back of the queue due to the deal I am getting. probably trying to **** me off so that I cancel.

I have a mental deal also and must admit I thought the same. I genuinely wouldnt think this is the case but god knows what these guys get up to. After the emissions thing I wouldnt put it past them

I know its not exclusively VAG but they are struggling...badly compared to their piers e.g merc and bmw. Seems they have been overwhelmed with sorting the mess left by the cheat devices scandal
Yeah lots of stuff has been going on at VAG, must have cost them millions to sort it all out....

Great news, start of production for that model was supposed to be week 40, so they are getting their act together, at long last!

Good news mate . Same engine and transmission as mine but I am the week after .
I was also messing about on the Audi configurator and with the 40 diesel engine model on the A6 it has 204ps , not sure if it may be the same on the A4 ?? Doubt it though .
